“You’ve been staring at that man ever since you came downstairs.” He smirks, as if he caught me doing something bad and nods his head toward Novak.

“If you know I’ve been staring at him ever since I came downstairs, that means you’ve been watching me the same amount of time,” I throw back at him, tilting my head.

“Mmm, you’ve got me there. I can’t help it when I see something I like.” He gives me the most charming smile, almost making me lose my balance. It’s a cheesy line, but the way he’s looking at me lets me know he means every word.

My eyes quickly dart to Novak to make sure he’s still there, but they fall back to the tattooed man in front of me. His eyes stare a hole right into mine. Now that I’m close enough, I can see his eyes are an alarmingly deep brown, and he has two black piercings in his right eyebrow.

“He’s nice to look at, but I’d put all my money on a small cock. He couldn’t satisfy a girl like you,” he says with a wink.

A girl like me? What the fuck does that even mean? Anger twists through my veins, but I don’t let it show on my face.

“What do you mean a girl like me?” I quirk a brow, crossing my arms over my chest as I wait for his, probably lame, response.

He leans in closer to my ear so I can hear over the loud music, the heat of his body surrounds me while his warm breath skates across my exposed neck. “You, my darling. I can see deep into your soul. You’re different. You don’t do normal relationships or normal anything, for that matter. You want wild and reckless. You want to take control… or someone to dominate you. You need a man that can do both.”

His voice is deep and as smooth as fucking whiskey. My breath hitches when his tattooed finger runs across my jawline. His surprisingly gentle touch sends chills down my spine. “Am I right, darling?” His finger stops, then slowly moves down my neck. My hand wraps around his thick wrist, but he tenses the moment our skin touches while his brows furrow angrily. I push his hand away from me, but he doesn’t fight me. It was like he expected me to.

I need to get away from him before I totally forget why I’m here. He has an uncannypresence about him, giving me an eerily uneasy feeling. Turning to head toward the edge of the crowd, I run into a massive body. My face rams right into a hard, muscular chest as I inhale the deep scent of oranges and scotch.

“Shit, sorry,” I mutter into the material of his shirt.

“Leaving so soon?” His deep voice sends a shock of pleasure right to my pussy. What the fuck is going on with me tonight that I can’t focus on my mission?

Taking a step back, I get a good look at who I just ran into. My mouth dries immediately when I’m met with a familiar face. I recognize him from the bar. One of the men standing with the cocky pink-haired guy earlier towers over me.

Shit.

I need to get closer to Novak, but it seems these two have their sights set on me tonight.

The man in front of me doesn’t move an inch; he just stares. His blond curls are short and unruly while his green eyes have a look of pure evil.

The third guy isn’t anywhere around that I can see. Maybe he isn’t into their idea of fun.

The pink-haired guy moves in behind me, boxing me in between their bodies. My pulse quickens at the possibilities. Maybe they’ll try to kill me. Maybe they double team me. Either way, adrenaline courses through my body, setting me alight with eagerness to see how this goes.

“One more dance before you go, darling.” His breath teases the back of my neck, fanning across my skin.

I don’t want him to know he’s affecting me, but I can’t stop the goosebumps from spreading across my arms.

A raspy chuckle sounds behind me as his fingers trail down my arm like he’s admiring his work.

Shaking my head, I yank myself from the fog they’ve put me in. “No.” I pull away and push through the small space between them, breaking through without a fight. They could’ve easily kept me trapped, but they didn’t. I need to focus and stop getting distracted by these alluring men.

“At least stay for a drink with the owners of the club,” the blond suggests with a charming smile, showing his perfect teeth and tempting dimples. “My name’s Ace, and that’s Blais. Let us get you a new drink. You don’t seem to like this one,” he says, looking down to my still full glass.

Shit. I didn’t think anyone would notice that I wasn’t actually drinking.

My mind wanders to what else he said. The owners.Such a cocky statement to throw around, but I lock this information in my mind in case I need it later.

If I wasn’t here to get closer to Novak, I might be swayed by his charm. I could go for a quick one-night stand to relieve tension if it were under any other circumstances. My eyes dart around, noticing that I can no longer see Novak.

Shit.

Both men are staring at me when my gaze turns back to them. “Not tonight. But since you’re the owners, I probably should let you know that your bouncer is way too handsy.”

The blond’s expression is set in stone at my statement, but the pink-haired man’s brows turn down in anger as his lip pulls up in a snarl.

A growl hits my ear when I walk away, but I keep moving forward, looking around. Suddenly, I see my target walking right out the front door. Rushing, I set my drink down on the nearest table, trying not to crash into a group of drunk girls who are in my way.
