The moment we step inside, I’m greeted by a large burly man wearing all black from head to toe. Crossing his arms over his chest, he steps directly in front of me and Blondie.

“Who the fuck is this? You know you’re not allowed to bring anyone here, stupid slut. Wait until the boss hears about this,” the burly asshole grumbles.

“Who am I? Who are you? Don’t you know who you’re speaking to?” I sneer, straightening my back and giving my coldest, most calculated look.

“No. Why should I know who you are?”

Clearly this guy isn’t very intelligent, because if some random man walked into my operation, he’d probably be dead on sight. Shoot first, ask later.

“One word for you... Omega.”

The way his eyes widen lets me know he’s aware of who I am, or at least who my father and I used to be. My dad was known for being one of the nastiest men around, so I’m not surprised by the fear in his eyes.

“Uhh, sorry sir. I wasn’t aware you would be here today. Boss didn’t mention anything.”

“It’s a surprise visit. Can’t let anyone get too relaxed. Omega is always watching when you least expect it—something you’d be wise to remember.”

All of a sudden, a loud scream erupts from another room. A scuffle seems to be taking place, and the burly guy turns toward it. “Fucking hell. You take him to the boss. No funny business either, bitch.” He looks conflicted about allowing this girl to take me to Sutton, but he doesn’t have much of a choice as the screaming gets louder, and he heads toward the commotion.

Blondie leads me past the kitchen, through the living room, and down a long hallway to a white door. The feeling in this house is thick with tension and paranoia. A few girls are lingering around, but they scatter quickly as I walk through the house. I catch sight of some of their faces and immediately wish I hadn’t. The anguish and fear plastered across their ghostlike features make my stomach roll.

“This is Harvey’s office,” Blondie suddenly squeaks in her high-pitched voice, before running off like a scared dog.

Without knocking, I slam the door to Sutton’s office open. The loud bang of it against the wall sounds like a gunshot. Sutton looks up from his desk with a shocked expression as he quickly hides something, probably drugs, in his desk drawer.

“Omega, what the hell are you doing here?” he asks in surprise, running his hand through his slicked-back blond hair. He remains planted in his seat, but I can tell he’s wanting to get out of here.

How the hell does he know who I am, when I haven’t known who he is this whole time? My father and I supplied girls for years to Genesis—who I now know worked for Sutton—until I stopped the business on my end. Only direct customers know my identity as Omega, but they would never speak a word of it to anyone if they want to keep their heads.Well, now Blondie knows too, but I don’t give a fuck. I’m not in the business anymore.I don’t know where Sutton’s getting his girls from now, and I don’t really care as long as I get mine back.

The thought of my father knowing that Sutton was connected to Genesis and not telling me causes my blood to boil. He kept shit from me when I was supposed to take over the business.Maybe he saw right through me. Maybe he could tell that I didn’t want to keep running it and that’s why he kept secrets. Or maybe he just wanted to keep Lainey away from me as long as possible by giving me a name he knew would be hard to trace.

I stroll into the room with a confident swagger, standing in front of his desk without wavering my stare on the slimy fucker.

“Harvey Sutton. It’s nice to finally meet you after all these years of supplying you girls, without knowing who I was really selling them to.”

His deep, maniacal chuckle sounds through the room. “Huh. Didn’t realize it was such a big secret. Your father knew the whole time.”

“Well, due to hisuntimelydeath, there was a lot he didn’t get to share with me.” I make sure to add emphasis on the word untimely, hoping he gets the hint that the same will happen to him if he doesn’t give me what I want.

Sutton leans nonchalantly back in this chair, intertwining his fingers in front of his chest. “That’s unfortunate. So what can I help you with?”

“I hear that you have something that I want.”

“Oh yeah? What’s that?” Sutton inquires, as he stands from his chair, straightening his ugly red tie and meeting my ferocious gaze. Reaching into my inside blazer pocket, I pull out the advertisement I found in Brandon’s apartment, slamming it down on his large cherrywood desk. The force behind my palm is enough to make the desk shake a little, letting Sutton know exactly how serious I am.

“Skye.”Lainey.

His eyes fall to the picture of Lainey, and a disgustingly hungry smile spreads across his smug face. I want to rip his eyes out just for that.

“Oh, she’s a popular one, very expensive.” His voice exudes confidence, and judging by his conniving grin, he probably thinks he’s about to have a good payday. I want to punch the fucking smug ass look off of his face, but I need to play this smart. I know he isn’t the only one working this little operation, so if I do something to him, that could fall back on Lainey.

“How much, Sutton?” I demand with a snarl.

“Three thousand a night,” he states, smirking at me like he’s some badass businessman.

You’re a fucking phony, Sutton.Three thousand for a girl like Lainey is a steal, but I’m going to get her back for free.

“Hmm… How about you let me take her for the night and I’ll give you a couple of girls on the house?” I offer, even though I know that sure as hell isn’t happening. I may not be dealing girls anymore, but I’ll sure as hell keep pretending to until I get Lainey back. Genesis had always picked up younger girls, so I’d told him I’m only dealing older girls right now, to make him think I was just focusing on a different market. I’m sure he relayed that same message to his boss.
