“It’s okay, angel. I’m happy they aren’t going to try to force us apart this time.” I mean, it’s not exactly ideal and I’m not one to be told what to do, but the fucking smile on her face melts my ego in a second. If she’s okay with it, then I guess I’ll have to be.

“Oh, and no sex,” Lya shouts from the kitchen. I hadn’t even noticed everyone else had left.

That ego that just melted is now freezing back over again at her words. An annoyed growl rumbles deep in my throat.

“Don’t worry, Greyson. You’ll still be buried nine inches deep every chance we get,” Lainey whispers in my ear. Her soft, warm breath sends goosebumps down my arms.

“They won’t be able to keep me from fucking you, angel. I’ll take what’s mine, when and where I want it.”

She whimpers at my words, the sound causing blood to rush to my cock. She must feel it because she grinds against me, putting pressure on my throbbing erection. If she doesn’t stop, I’ll fuck her right here with them in the next room. Though we’d never get away with it, since my angel can never keep quiet when I’m touching her.

I groan. "Angel... Are you trying to tempt the devil?”

Lainey releases her legs from my waist with a frustrated huff, slipping down to stand in front of me.Damn, I didn’t want her to stop.

“We’d better stop before we get too far,” she whispers.

What she doesn’t realize is that anything with her is too far. I just can’t stop myself when it comes to her. She’s my fucking drug and I’ll never get enough.

Now I’m standing here in the middle of her sister’s living room with a raging hard-on. I’m obviously not getting any relief right now.I’ll remember this later, angel.

I attempt to shift the conversation to something that’ll definitely kill my boner. “Angel, why didn’t you tell me about their plan to take down Sutton? I could’ve helped, or at least have let you know that Genesis was part of his operation.”

Her eyes drop, like she’s ashamed of her decision. “It’s... I just—” She’s trying to figure out what to say, but I cut in before she can finish.

“Angel, do you actually trust me? Or did you just say that earlier to get Lya to go along with this?” The way her eyes find mine and slice into me lets me know I’ve just fucked up.

Shit.I shouldn’t have said that.

The hurt in her eyes nearly kills me. “Of course I trust you. How can you even ask me that? The reason I didn’t tell you is because we’d started planning the takedown before you came back into my life. When I first saw you again, I wasn’t sure whether it was a trap. I was worried that you were there to collect me for Harvey.”

“So why didn’t you tell me after we started spending time together? You know I’d never do that to you—you’re the only thing I’ve ever wanted since the first time I saw you. The thought of giving you back to Sutton makes me sick.”

“I know that now, but I’ve been stuck on both sides of the fence when it comes to you and Lya. I was trapped between betraying her trust even further by telling you the plan to take down a man your father worked with, and keeping it from you while we were trying to build a future together. It wasn’t an easy decision, and I’m not sure I even made the right choice, but what’s done is done. I can’t change that now.”

I can see her walls slowly creeping up as she tries to shield herself from my reaction. It rips me apart that she kept this from me, but something I’ve grown to learn about Lainey is that she’ll do what she thinks is best to protect people she cares about. Even if it’s going to backfire in the end.

“I’m not angry at you, angel. I’m a little hurt that you didn’t tell me, but I understand why you did it.” I bend down and give her a soft kiss on the lips, which she immediately deepens.

Just like that, I’m hard all over again.

For the last three days, Greyson has come over each morning to help us plan our attack on Harvey. Three days of watching this man—who’s all of my dirty fantasies come to life—and barely being able to touch him, has been hell.

Anytime we get a second of privacy, it’s like the next cockblocker rushes in to stop us. Whether it’s Thiago coming into the kitchen to grab a snack, Rian deciding to play video games in the living room, Zep wanting to talk strategy, or Lya refusing to leave my room so we can have “girl talk.”

They’re always lurking around every corner, acting like a bunch of nuns trying to keep me chaste. Honestly, it’s frustrating as hell. What’s the equivalent of blue balls, but for a vagina? Because I’m pretty sure I have it.It’s also kind of hypocritical of them, considering I can often hear Lya screaming out whoever’s name is pounding her at the time and I can hear them grunting out hers right after.

Every night, I have to blare music or move to a different area of the house to avoid the noise. For such smart people, you’d think they would have soundproofed their home, just like they did the office. I could definitely go for some soundproof rooms to make it easier to sneak around with Greyson.

Instead, I’m sitting here at the dining room table having the most tension-filled dinner with him by my side. The guys and Lya still aren’t sold on the idea of him being in my life, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. If they didn’t need him to take down Harvey, I don’t think he’d be sitting here right now.

I’m just glad we haven’t had another fight. There was a moment yesterday when I thought Rian was going to punch Greyson’s lights out, but Lya and I were able to keep things peaceful. By peaceful, I mean Zep and Thiago had to drag Rian to the basement, while I forced Greyson to walk outside with me. But other than that, they’ve been somewhat cordial, if you can call death glares and snide remarks cordial.

Right after we all agreed to work together, Greyson put in a call to Harvey about a new shipment of girls. It makes my skin crawl knowing that he once used this very line in order to set up real business with Harvey and other sex traffickers. It still cuts me pretty deep, but I’m hoping that after all this, we can move forward with our lives. Greyson and I will both be free from this.

Harvey was skeptical at first, asking Greyson why he’d had a change of heart about working with him. Greyson gave a bullcrap response of needing to regain clientele because money was getting tight. He also told Harvey that since he knows his identity now, he expects to work with him directly, no middle man.

If an outsider was looking in, Greyson’s cold attitude talking to Harvey would make it seem like he has no qualms about trading young girls. However, I know better. I saw the way the light extinguished behind his eyes, the way darkness consumed his soul. I could feel the disgust and self-loathing rolling off of him. He hates this.
