He has one hand on the gun and the other hand firmly planted right under my breasts, and I feel like I’m going to be sick. “You should know by now that you can’t run from me,” he whispers, yanking me back into his body. My stomach twists and my throat constricts, keeping me from replying.

Zep lifts his gun and has it aimed right on Harvey. My eyes go wide, wondering if he’ll actually take the shot. I silently beg him to take it—there might not be another chance.

“I suggest you lower that gun if you want to make it out of here in one piece. Not very wise to point a gun at someone when you’re so outnumbered.” Harvey’s chest rumbles against my back. He dips his head closer to my ear, brushing my ponytail to the side with this chin. “How about I fuck you right here in front of everyone, like the little whore you are? I’ll have you begging for my cock by the time I’m done with you. I always wanted to sample this fine piece of ass. Such a wonderful surprise seeing my little mouse here trying to fight off my men.”

My entire body goes still, dread trickling down my spine. He spoke the words soft enough for only me to hear, but by the desperate way Lya and the guys are looking at me, they know what he just said must be bad.

“Where’s Greyson? What did you do to him?” I demand Harvey, trying not to show how terrified I am right now.

“Hmm, Greyson? Oh, wait. You mean Omega? The guy that I bought your delicious pussy from? That guy?” His menacing chuckle cuts me to my core. He’s trying to turn me against Greyson, but I know it was his father who sold me.

“Where is he, Harvey?!” I’m screaming at this point, but I don’t care.

“Dead. Or at least he will be soon.” He turns to one of his men. “Tie them up. If anyone tries anything, don’t hesitate to shoot.” He orders this so calmly, like human lives mean nothing to him.

My entire body goes rigid.No. No. No. He can’t be dead.My heart is shredding to pieces inside of my body.

Harvey’s men start to move in on Lya and the guys, but it feels like a tidal wave is crashing down on me repeatedly, refusing to allow me to come up for air.

I refuse to let Greyson die on me. We have an entire life to live together. There’s only one way this is going to end, and it won’t be how Harvey expects it.

My vision begins to go blurry as rage consumes me. No one touches my family, or the man that I love, and gets away with it. Harvey is carelessly holding the gun to my temple, not applying much pressure while his men tie up Lya and the guys. I can see in their eyes they want to fight, but they won’t with the gun to my head.

This is the only chance I have. I take a deep breath in and flip open the blade on the knife that I’ve been trying to hide from Harvey. In one quick motion, I swing it around and slam it back into his leg. He grunts loudly and bends forward, allowing me to knock the gun away from my head and elbow him in the gut.

“You stupid cunt!” He pulls the knife from his leg just as I go to run to the others. He catches hold of my ponytail, wrenching me back until I crash into the ground. My elbows scrape across the concrete while my head slams into it, hard.

“Lainey, no!” Lya screams, and I can hear her shoving off Harvey’s men and racing towards me. The guys are all yanking against their restraints, but Lya didn’t fully have hers on yet. “Let go of me, you bastard, or I’ll cut off every inch of your skin and feed it to you like the pig you are!”

Out of the corner of my eye, I can see a big burly man holding Lya back as he calls for another one to help restrain her. Harvey yanks on my hair again, forcing me to sit up on my knees now.

“Tsk, tsk. I thought I broke that stubborn streak out of you as a teen, but it looks like I didn’t do a proper job. Don’t worry though, once I get you back to my place, I know you’ll be a good little slut again.” Harvey’s grinning ear to ear, like the sadistic jackass he is. There’s half-dried blood running from his nose down over his lips and chin, making him look even scarier.

“I’ll never be obedient for you. Might as well kill me now, because it’ll never happen.” I spit at him, hoping it’ll stick to his godawful face. Now that I’ve had a better look at him, I can see his nose is bruised and looks like it’s broken.

Good. I hope Greyson did that to you.

Within a matter of seconds, he brings his injured knee to my face, connecting with my nose and making my head snap back. “I’d be careful what you say next, you little piece of shit. Now get up, and let’s go. Any of you struggle and I’ll slice her neck. Her blood will cover this floor while I make you watch. Got it?” He directs his words toward Lya and the guys. His eyes are filled with a sinister darkness, and they narrow as he takes a closer look at Lya. “Twins, huh? Pity you look like too much fucking trouble. I don’t like my girls with too much fight, otherwise I might’ve been tempted to take you too.”

“I’m so sorry, Lya. I’m so sorry. Please... please save yourselves, save Greyson, then get out of here and find me,” I whisper to my sister as I’m dragged past her. Harvey has a death grip on my arm.

Lya and the guys are all sitting on the ground with zip ties holding their arms and legs together. I can see tears spilling down Lya’s face and she’s shaking. She looks devastated, and I feel so guilty.

“Fucking fight, Lainey. No matter what you do, fight.” It’s Rian’s voice that catches my ear last as the cool night air slaps across my face.

“Get in the car, bitch, and don’t make a sound. You reach for that handle and I’ll put a bullet right between your eyes.” Harvey shoves my entire body into the passenger seat of his car and slams the door shut. He quickly jogs to the driver’s side and slips in, watching me the entire time. As much as I want to fight back and escape, I know that’s not the smartest plan while locked in a car with him and his men close by. Lya and the others will get out and save me.

I see all his men exit the building and my heart begins to break again. Lya better make it out of there—they can’t give up. If something happens to them, it’ll be my fault. They should’ve kept fighting even if I was going to be collateral damage. Harvey needs to be stopped.

As soon as the last guy steps out of the building, Harvey’s phone begins to ring.

“Yes?” Harvey shouts into his phone, which he’s just put on speaker.

“It’s done, boss.” That’s all the guy says before hanging up.

What’s done? What does he mean?

“Do you want to see something incredible?” Harvey’s eyes are filled with twisted mischief, and I brace myself for something horrific. “Look over at the building. You don’t want to miss this.”
