“I look forward to it,” the man, Hayk, called in return. He sent the customer a lascivious look and pretended to wipe the corner of his mouth before sucking on two of his fingers.

My jaw dropped…and my prick pulsed with interest. Even more so when the man turned to smile at Lefric, but caught me looking.

His smile widened and his eyes danced with curiosity before he turned fully to Lefric. “You’re back,” he said, holding his arms wide open. “We were so worried about you.”

“It was a fascinating trip,” Lefric said, hugging the man.

A twinge of completely irrational jealousy hit me before I could stop it. The reaction was strong enough to send blood straight to my face.

“It couldn’t have been half as fascinating as everything that’s been going on here,” Hayk said. “People think that you and Olympus are responsible for Gregorius’s death.”

“That’s what I just told him,” Billie said, sliding her arm around the man as soon as he finished hugging Lefric.

I blinked as I realized the two bore a strong resemblance to each other. They had to be siblings, but if they were, they were uncomfortably affectionate with each other.

“You know I had nothing to do with Gregorius,” Lefric said, as if he didn’t notice how astoundingly attractive his friend was. I couldn’t take my eyes off the man. “But we think we’ve found out who might have been responsible for it.” He leaned close to them and said, “Eneko is a spy for the Old Realm. He has been for a while, as near as we can figure.”

Billie’s mouth dropped open. “Eneko? Lord Vikhrov’s steward?”

“The very one,” Lefric said. “King Julius has all sorts of spies on the frontier, or so we’ve discovered. There was a man in Hedeon, a confidante of King Sai, named Hadrian who we proved was a spy. Well, I didn’t prove it was him really. It was Magnus who uncovered it, I guess. And Peter and Neil.” He nodded to where Peter and Neil stood close together, watching the conversation. “You remember them, right?”

Lefric didn’t give either Billie or Hayk a chance to respond before hurrying on with, “Hadrian had a book with the names of all King Julius’s spies on the frontier, or at least a lot of them, and both Gregorius and Eneko were listed in the book. That’s how we knew about him. Vikhrov had his quarters searched as soon as we all got back last night, and he found all sorts of incriminating evidence. Eneko is imprisoned now, I think, while Vikhrov and Magnus figure out what to do with him.”

“Who else was listed in that book?” Billie asked, her eyes wide and bright. “Any more people in Good Port? Anyone else we know?”

“Oh!” Lefric exclaimed. “There were lots of names. But I don’t know that many people yet. I should have Magnus show you the book. You probably know everyone in Good Port, since, between you and Hayk, you’ve probably been fucked by everyone who is important.”

I choked on nothing, drawing far too much attention to myself.

“Are you alright?” Jace asked, stepping up behind me to thump my back. He was laughing at me, I knew, but I hardly noticed.

Hayk was smiling at me again with those gorgeous eyes of his. “Who are your new friends?” he asked Lefric. “I remember Peter and Neil, Jace and Gennadi from before.”

“Oh.” Lefric turned to me. “This is Anton,” he said. “And that’s Sebald and his pup, Avenel.”

“Are you a real pup?” Billie asked, looking as though she’d just been introduced to royalty.

Avenel scooted closer to Sebald, glancing to him to see what he should do.

“He is,” Sebald answered for him. “He’s a bit shy of strangers.”

“You’re not shy of strangers, are you,” Hayk said.

It took me a moment to realize he was speaking to me. Not just speaking, he’d taken a step closer to me and grinned like I was a particularly juicy sausage that he wanted to bite into.

“I’m—”

That was as far as I got before Hayk did exactly what I’d imagined he wanted to do. Without warning, or scruples, he hooked an arm around my waist, tugged me flush against his sculpted body, and slanted his mouth over mine.

I was too shocked to do anything as he kissed me. And it wasn’t just a kiss for show either. He knew exactly how to plunge his tongue into my mouth, then draw my tongue into his, molding his lips to mine and sending liquid fire through my veins.

More than just that, he closed his other arm around me in such a way that he was able to slip his hand down the back of my trousers to cup my bare ass. His long-fingered hand felt so good against my skin that I didn’t even try to fight it. I was mesmerized by his kiss, my head spinning with want. I didn’t flinch or pull away when he slipped his fingers between my ass cheeks to finger my hole.

He hummed wickedly into my mouth, then pulled back enough to stare into my eyes at impossibly close proximity and to murmur, “Someone’s been fucked recently.”

The heat that had filled me turned to mortification. Flashes of the way Dmitri had fucked me in the bathtub the evening before rushed back in on me, and I lowered my head, unable to meet his eyes.

“Oh, dear,” Hayk said quietly, as if we were the only two people in the world instead of standing in a cluster of my friends. “You’ll have to tell me all about it.”
