I swallowed thickly and peeked up at him again. He was only a few inches taller than me, and by all appearances, we were the same age, but something about him made me feel smaller and younger.

“Anton is the pup of a horrible man called Dmitri,” I heard Lefric say from what felt like miles away. “You’d better watch out, if Dmitri catches you fondling him like that, he’ll probably try to kill you.”

“Really?” Hayk inched back slightly, his hand still down the back of my trousers. He glanced around. “Where is this Dmitri. I think I’d like to have a word with him.”

“Actually, no one knows where he is this morning,” Lefric said, a wide smile splitting his face. He seemed to have drawn some conclusions about the situation I was stuck in.

“Then he won’t mind if I do this,” Hayk said, then shifted his hand around to stroke my cock. He leaned in and kissed me again too, thrusting his tongue into my mouth.

I had no idea what was going on, but I was helpless against it. Every one of my senses were firing. Hayk smelled and tasted so good, like salt and spice and sex. He was warm and solid, and my palms splayed across his sides before I could stop myself. His hand on my cock wasn’t just teasing either. He fully intended to stroke me off and probably would have if Billie hadn’t slapped his shoulder.

“Leave the poor man alone, Hayk,” she said with a laugh. “He’s not a customer. I’m Billie,” she introduced herself, “and this whore is my brother, Hayk.”

I would have sucked in a breath in surprise, if I hadn’t had Hayk’s tongue in my mouth. She’d called him a whore, the same way I’d hurled the epithet at my friends, only she meant it as a term of endearment, I could tell.

Well, technically, my friends treated it as a term of endearment too.

But Hayk was the real deal.

Hayk rocked back, breaking our kiss and removing his hand from my trousers…reluctantly. His eyes were still glued to mine as he said, “I wouldn’t ask you to pay if I was starving and only needed a penny to buy a kebab.”

My brain was still too scrambled to make sense of what he was saying.

“Don’t worry,” Lefric laughed, moving to my side and patting my shoulder. “He did the same thing to me when I first met him.”

It would have hurt less if Lefric had punched me in the gut. For half a second, I’d thought that maybe I was special, maybe I was just so irresistible that a gorgeous man like Hayk couldn’t help but throw himself at me.

“Oh,” I said, lowering my head. “I see.”

“I’m showing my friends all of my favorite things about Good Port,” Lefric went on as though it was just another ordinary day. “So, of course, I had to bring him to meet you.”

“You should accompany us around the city,” Jace said. I could hear the grin in his voice, even though I was staring at the cobbled street under everyone’s feet. “I’m sure Anton would like that.”

I cringed, angry at the way Jace made fun of me, and snapped my head up to glare at him.

Hayk was watching me as though reading a fascinating book. He didn’t share Jace’s taunting expression, though.

“We’re still working,” Billie sighed, moving to drape herself over Lefric the way she’d been draped over Hayk earlier.

As if to underscore that point, a middle-aged man marched out of the brothel’s garden, a frown on his tanned face, and searched up and down the street. When he saw Hayk and Billie, he shouted, “Oy! They’d better be customers. You still owe me a full day’s work.”

“Oh!” Lefric said, brightening for no apparent reason. “That’s a good idea.”

I watched, completely perplexed, as Lefric stepped away from us, reaching for the purse he had fastened to his belt.

“Good morning, Master Daron,” he called to the man, smiling at him as though they were long-lost friends. “Would fifty marks be enough for you to let Billie and Hayk help me give my friends from the Wolf River Kingdom a tour of the city?”

He took a small handful of coins from his purse as he reached the pimp, offering them as if he were the one who had something to be embarrassed about.

“Back from your travels, Master Lefric?” the man asked with an amused grin. I wondered if Master Daron was making fun of Lefric or if they had some sort of rapport.

“We are,” Lefric said with a nod, sliding the handful of coins to the man. “And what an interesting trip we had! The meetings in Hedeon were a bit of a waste of time, but King Magnus of the Wolf River Kingdom is here staying with Vikhrov, and Jorgen Iceblade and Hati are on their way from the Northern Kingdom. We’re going to have a sort of summit of our own to settle a few things. But not today. Today I’m just showing my friends around. Can Billie and Hayk come?”

I wanted to shake my head. I had visions of some of my young friends asking each other’s mothers if they could come out and play as Lefric waited for Master Daron’s answer.

Master Daron counted the coins Lefric had handed him, then he smiled. “For this much, you can all take a few turns fucking them as well. Just bring them back in one piece.”

“I will, sir.” Lefric smiled, then started back to us.
