“If you had a delivery guy, why didn’t you say something earlier?” Austin asked.

Daniel sat back down in his seat and began to ring up Austin’s purchases.

“Well, I had to wait in order to make sure that you weren’t doing anything illicit. Now that I know better the delivery guy will bring this over to you with no problem. Also, if we need anything else we have a website you can order it through there.”

Austin looked at him in disbelief.

“Really?”

“Welcome back home to Cooper Sand,” Daniel said with a large smile on his face.

Austin walked out of the door thinking to himself he wasn’t sure if he would be able to take a more welcoming committee.

Chapter Five

“Something has to bedone, “Jillian declared the next day.

Claudia wasn’t sure how long Jillian was going to hold out after she had seen Austin go into the building next door, but she knew it wouldn’t last long.

“What exactly do you think we should do?” Claudia asked. “He is obviously helping to do some work in the building. Can we really be upset that he is trying to upgrade the neighborhood with a new business?”

Jillian looked at Claudia as if she had betrayed her. Claudia turned and looked across the street. The front of the building had a very wide window and all of it was covered by brown paper. Looking at the deliveries that were delivered to the front door Claudia could tell a lot of work what’s going on in the building.

Claudia was used to being patient. Eventually Austin would let everyone know what was going on in the building. He wouldn’t have a choice.

“I think he should be telling us what he is doing right away. It’s the neighborly thing to do,” Jillian said.

Claudia wasn’t so sure it was the neighborly thing to do but it surely would help Jillian appease her curiosity. Claudia was and is worried as Jillian was. Austin was from this town. She didn’t think he would do anything that would go against the basic grain of the town.

“Maybe he’s not very neighborly Jillian.”

“That is exactly what I’m talking about. What happens if he’s a horrible neighbor? What happens if the business he’s opening sells records or music instruments and so loud and drives away our customers?” Jillian predicted.

Enough was enough. Claudia couldn’t take another day of listening to Jillian predict doom and gloom from his next door.

“I’m going over,” Claudia said as she walked out the front door. Jillian was close on her heels. She stopped at the store’s entrance and called out to Claudia.
