“I’m patient Claudia and there is no rule that says you have to ask me anything. I’m happy with our relationship and I believe in giving you your space.”

“I think Austin is crazy!” Claudia said as she savored a bite of creme brulee.

“But you still took the job,” Olivia said.

“At the time it seemed like the best combination of everything I wanted to do,” Claudia confessed.

“Trust yourself Claudia. also from what I hear you are working with two people who wouldn't just throw money down the drain.”

“They seem like they are so sure.”

Olivia reached across the table and touched her sister's hand.

“If they are sure maybe you should trust them.”

Claudia fidgeted in her seat.

“I'll admit it's a bit intimidating to work with Sasha Lipanzi. When I researched all of the things she's done. I'm shocked she would take the time of day with me.”

“First of all, let me be the one to tell you that past performance is no guarantee future performance. It seems like you need to ease into this. what did you say the first show was going to be?”

“It's going to be about beach clothing.”

“How are they going to do it? Is it going to be a live show?”

“No, the first show will be a virtual show. We are going to make all of the items and then put them on models and play it like a video trailer for people to see what is available.”

“Great! what I suggest you do is find a bunch of people that you already know and like. get them to volunteer for the show and you will feel way more comfortable. It will also help you make your clothes with their needs in mind. you do this all the time.”

Claudia looked at her sister and wondered how did she ever meet without her. The idea was so simple and would be great for the first show. Maybe she hadn't thought this clearly because she was feeling intimidated.

“Would you mind being in the video?” Claudia asked Oliva hoping for the best. Olivis smiled.

“I might be persuaded after we eat the scones with clotted cream,” Olivia said with a smile.

“As long as you don’t mind me sharing in that we’re good,” Claudia said.

“Now that we have the superficial stuff out of the way let's talk about the real issues.”

Claudia gave a small laugh

“The real issues?”

“Yes, you know like how do you see things going on between you and Austin?”

Claudia choked on the food she was eating. Olivia got up and patted her on the back and then sat down.

“Wow, I didn't realize there was so much going on between you two,” Olivia said.

“It's not that things are going on between us. you just caught me by surprise when you asked. we are working together in order to get everything organized. I think we have both decided that we need to be as professional as possible.”

“Hmmm, it's always so interesting to see people deny the obvious.”

“We are not denying anything. we are grown adults and we've just made some decisions,” Claudia said looking at her sister. Although the words were coming out of her mouth, she had to admit to herself, but she was somewhat disappointed. It was odd to want a man to be able to recognize you for your talents and strengths but didn't want to commit to a relationship. She knew that she wasn't clear in her own mind what she wanted and as a result she couldn't say anything either way to Austin.

“Well let me tell you something about adults and decisions. It turned out that we always try to make the most logical choice when it comes to decisions, but we forget to take into account feelings. It says a lot for two people to go into business with one another on such a bold adventure. There’s trust and respect there. On top of that I’ve been watching Austin and asking around and I think he’s a good guy. That’s something you would do well to have in your life.”

“Do you really think Austin wants to be with a woman with the baggage I have. I’m better than I was before but there are days when I feel like I’ve just left the shelter,” Claudia said in a low voice.
