She needed to pull herself together.

Slapping on some makeup, Rose surveyed herself in the mirror. Gerri had mentioned flirty but upscale, meaning Tish’s side of her closet was off-limits for this one.

Walking to her wardrobe, she parted the doors and put her hands on her hips. She hoped that whoever Gerri was setting her up with wasn’t some stick-in-the-mud corporate guy that would ridicule anything not mainstream.

The last thing she needed was to be stuck with a guy that didn’t know how to let loose every once in a while.

Grabbing one of her bodycon dresses, Rose slipped it on her over her bra and panty set. She smoothed her hand down the fabric, making sure it was all in place, before shoving her feet into her heels and grabbing her bag.

She did one last twirl in her mirror and then headed out the door.

Rose got into the cab waiting outside her apartment, feeling her phone vibrate inside her purse the moment she buckled herself in. She knew exactly who was blowing up her phone, even before she pulled it out and looked at the screen. She shook her head as the texts kept coming.

Tell us how it goes!

Yeah, we wanna know if you guys end up banging. LOL

Omg, guys, she’s going out to lunch, not dinner. LOL

She snorted and texted her bandmates back. You guys are ridiculous.

Moon’s text came back first.Did you meet him yet?

Followed by Wind’s text.Is he hot?

She rolled her eyes at her phone.I haven’t met him yet, so I’m not sure.

Fire sent a line of crying emojis, making her snort. God, her girls could really be ridiculous. Charming, but ridiculous, nonetheless.

She texted them back.I’ll give you guys a play-by-play while I’m there. How’s that sound?

She was met with more rows of emojis from all of them collectively, making her smile. No matter what, they were always on her side. It made her heart fill with warmth as she thought about how much their friendship meant to her.

She wouldn’t be half as far in life if she didn’t have any of them at her side. Hell, her punk music career wouldn’t even be a thing if it wasn’t for her friends pushing her to step out onto that stage all those years ago. She’d been lucky enough for their support on and off stage.

Her cab came to a slow stop. When she got out, Rose straightened herself up and then tucked her phone back into her bag.

The only thing she regretted was not asking Gerri more questions about what her match looked like. Even if looks were far from what she typically focused on, it would’ve at least given her something to go off of instead of wandering around the restaurant looking like a lost puppy.

Let’s hope he’s already here with a reservation.

The one thing that Gerridid,in fact, give her was the man’s ... well, shifter’s ... name.

Dylan Kirby. Let’s see if you’re as hot as your name suggests.

Heading into the restaurant, Rose wrung her fingers together and nervously cracked the joints. The place was packed. Couples lined every table, and their voices carried in soft conversations.

It was a bit dimmer in here than it was outside, giving the entire place a romantic feel. “Can I help you?”

Rose looked over, seeing the hostess staring at her expectantly. She flashed a smile, “I’m here for a reservation. Kirby.”

“Oh. Miss Hauser,” the hostess said, surprising her. “Right this way. Mr. Kirby’s already waiting for you.”

She blew out a breath and nodded.

Well … here goes nothing.

Following the hostess, she was led to a small table at the back of the restaurant. She could hear other conversations drifting away as she approached the table. She was surprised that he’d picked such an intimate setting for them.
