“Long enough to present some preliminary ideas,” Leo answered.

“Excellent. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have another appointment.”

Leo shook his hand. “I promise to be in touch soon.”

Hours later, Leo and Ben finished a preliminary draft. It wasn’t the polished version, but enough to let Stavros see what Costa Development could do.

“I like it.” Ben leaned his hands on the small desk in Leo’s suite they used as headquarters. “We can keep all the charm but make some more contemporary changes.”

“I think so too,” Leo said, satisfied with the work they’d done.

“We’ll have to do something about the dividing wall on the balcony. Have you seen how low it is?” Ben pointed out Leo’s sliding window. “It’s only protected by a flimsy gate. It’s going to need to be changed.”

“I noticed it too. The height should be raised for privacy.”

Ben stretched his arms above his head. “Is that all?” he said through a yawn. “I’m going to call Amanda and the boys, order room service, and watch a movie. Interested?”

He glanced outside. It had been a beautiful day and there was likely to be another impressive sunset tonight. “No thanks, I’m going to go for a run before it gets too late.”

“Ok.” Ben walked to the door. “Let me know if you change your mind.”

Leo wiped his face with his T-shirt and entered a small shop to buy a bottle of water. He perched on a low wall and gulped it down. A few cruise ships were anchored in the bay.

He’d been to Greece many times, but this was the first trip where he wasn’t traveling with an entourage of friends whose primary purpose was to sail during the day and party all night. He hadn’t been in a nightclub in years, so he was baffled by how social media kept tabs on him.

He tossed the empty water bottle into a recycling container, put his earbuds in, and scrolled through his phone’s playlists until he found the right song. Running through the streets, he ignored the occasional stare. He would land this deal, establish himself, and he would finally earn the respect he deserved.

Closer to the Triton, he came to an abrupt stop. The brunette beauty was getting out of a car in front of the hotel. He took deep breaths to calm his racing heart. She was still here.

She turned slightly in his direction. Did she see him? Would she want to talk to him again? He grinned, recalling her sexy smile and quick wit. Should he risk trying to talk to her again?

Leo scrubbed his face with his T-shirt and resumed his jog, picking up his pace to catch up to her. With each step closer, Leo made a decision. If she looked at him with any interest, he would try to talk to her again. If not, he’d move on with his life.
