“Oh. Okay. Thank you.”
“Have a nice day.” He left the room.
Cassie lifted the silver lid and smiled. Figs, ripe strawberries, croissants, and chocolate truffles. A breakfast for lovers. It was such a thoughtful thing for him to do. She plucked a strawberry out of the sterling silver bowl, and when she bit into its red flesh, the sweet juice burst inside her mouth. A single purple orchid lay next to the plate. She picked it up and brushed the soft petals against her cheek and lips.
She opened the envelope with excitement and removed a note written in a concise, masculine hand.
Good morning, Psyche,
I hope you slept well.
I’ve asked the concierge to arrange a day at the spa for you. I want you to enjoy yourself and feel pampered.
I’ll send a car to pick you up and bring you to me. I have a special evening planned for us.
I can’t wait to see you.
Eros
He wanted to spoil her, and she loved it. Eros was giving her a spa day. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d had her nails done, much less a massage.
She went to the closet and took out the dress she bought the other day. Last night, he gazed at her with a hunger she’d never known before. She wanted to see that expression again. He told her to wear something that made her feel beautiful. This dress delivered that in spades.
