CASSIE
“Where are we going?” Cassie asked, struggling to keep up in her heels.
Leo didn’t answer. He turned down a hall near the lobby. He entered a code into a panel and steel doors slid open. It was a private elevator.
“Where does this go?”
“My place.” He led her inside and pushed the button for the top floor.
She stared at her reflection in the highly polished metal doors. Her earlier moment of vindication faded before her eyes. Owen’s cruel words came back to her.I’ve already had her.She’s not good enough for me.Hooker.In this outfit, she looked like a woman interested only in sex.
“Stop it,” Leo roared, taking her face in his hands, his eyes smoldering. “You have nothing to be ashamed of.”
Squeezing her eyes tight, a few tears trickled down her cheeks.
The elevator slowed to a stop, and the doors slid open.
“Cassandra?” Leo asked with concern. “You haven’t done anything wrong.”
Awash in her own misery, she couldn’t look at him.
“All right. I’m going to prove it to you.” Leaving the elevator, Leo took her by the hand and walked a short distance to a pair of large, mahogany doors. He punched in another code on a keypad and opened the door. Not letting go of her hand, he led her into a small wood-paneled foyer, spun her around and crushed his lips against hers, kicking the door shut. Their mouths joined together in a tangle of lips, tongues, and whispered words. Leo left no doubt this fiery kiss claimed her as his.
With a moan, she wrapped her arms around Leo, earning her a deep grunt of approval from him.
He broke his kiss and cradled her face, his thumb caressing her cheeks. “You are the most remarkable woman I’ve ever known. I don’t give a fuck what that asshole said. He wouldn’t know what to do with a real woman, but I do.” His eyes ignited with desire for her. In this moment, it was all that mattered.
“I want to show you something.” He turned her toward a wall that had a floor-to-ceiling mirror and stood behind her. “Tell me what you see.”
Cassie glanced at her reflection, but her eyes drifted to Leo. He mesmerized her. “I see the most handsome man I’ve ever known.”
“Nice try.” He kissed her shoulder. Looking into the mirror, their eyes locked. “Watch closely.” This time he kissed the nape of her neck while his warm fingertips brushed across the exposed skin of her cleavage.
She sucked in a breath, her body instinctively leaned in closer to him, and trembled with longing.
Leo’s eyes gleamed with lust. “You are a woman with extraordinary passions. You possess curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, but your body is equally curious. Your body is starving for sensuality. There is no shame in wanting passion. I want to give you that.”
Her lips parted with a sigh. Leo had sensed her yearning and instead of ridiculing her like Owen, he praised her. Her core hummed for more—more of everything Leo could give her.
Leo moved his hand to the back of the dress. He lowered the zipper with deliberate slowness. Her heart pounded like a drum, waiting for his reaction. Leo slipped the dress off her shoulders and let it fall to her feet. He sucked in a breath as his eyes, full of heat, took in every detail. “Look at you,” he said in a hushed voice.
She stepped out of the dress and held his gaze in the mirror. The black lace and satin corset along with the matching panties she’d bought in Paris had been a bold, last-minute decision. She liked the way she looked, but she loved the way Leo looked at her.
“I see you, Deusa. You can cover yourself up, but this is who you are, and you were made for me alone.”
She shivered with lust. “I feel the same way. Every time you’re near me, my body wants what I’ve only fantasized about.”
With a smile, he moved in front of her and slowly lowered a corset cup, releasing her breast. He caught her eye and wrapped his lips around a nipple. His cheeks hollowed, drawing it deep into his mouth.
A rush of pleasure shot straight to her core. “More,” she groaned, tossing her head back. “Please.”
Freeing her other breast, he licked and gently bit her nipple. “You’ll never have to beg me to give you this. I don’t care where we are. Understand?”
Heat as hot as lava filled her body. Her mind went into overdrive, imagining all the ways she wanted him to take her.
“If I could capture one moment as my favorite, this would be it. Do you see how your body becomes pliant, aching for my touch,” Leo said, his amber eyes concentrating on her with lust.
