“You are cheating!” Bronywyn exclaims as I sink the ball, yet again.

“I am not.”

“You have to be. There is no way you can make that in a single hit.”

“Just because we happened to find one thing—other than cooking, of course—that you aren’t good at, doesn’t mean I’m cheating.”

“Uh-huh.” She eyes me warily then lines up with her ball. I take the chance to slide up behind her and wrap my arms around to cover her hands on the club.

“You have to hold the club with a firm grip.”

My breath hitches as she leans back into me, pressing her perfect ass right against my dick. Suddenly, mini golf is the last thing on my mind. After all, it would be so easy to simply slide the skirt of her dress up and check to see whether she was lying about there being nothing under it.

“A firm grip is important?” she asks, interrupting my less than honorable thoughts about fucking on a golf course.

I lean down and press a kiss to the slope of her neck. “A firm grip isalwaysimportant.”

“Noted.”

“Then you pull back a little, and—” I swing the club with her and gently tap the ball. It glides up over the wooden bridge, goes through the lighthouse, and then, with my enhanced senses, I hear the ball sink into the cup. “And that’s how it’s done.”

“You are totally cheating.”

Laughter bubbles out of my chest, and I release her. “I am not, in any way, shape, or form, cheating.”

“Uh-huh.” We continue down the course and retrieve our balls from the cup. Then, Bronywyn comes to a stop right in front of the next obstacle.

I line up, tap my ball, and it glides over the fake turf, and through the alligator’s open mouth before rolling into the cup. “See, no cheating.”

“Yeah, we’ll see about that.” She sets her ball down and comes to stand behind it. I watch, completely amused, as she taps the club and waves her hand. Violet tendrils of magic surround the ball, guiding it through the gator and into the cup.

“And you say I’m cheating?”

She grins at me. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Someone screams.

We both spin in the direction of the ticket booth. Three men close in as Deissy screams again. I’m gone before she falls silent, stopping right in front of the booth and facing off with what I now see are three vampires.

How the hell didn’t I sense them before?

“What can I do for you, boys?”

“We’re just here for a little dinner.”

Deissy whimpers behind me, and I cast her a quick glance as Bronywyn reaches us.

“Deissy, stay where you are,” she orders.

“Okay,” the terrified human replies.

Bronywyn continues to stare ahead as she tells Deissy, “Close your eyes.”

“I—”
