“We’ve got the bastards on the run, now,” Ridley replies.

Fearghas clears his throat and shifts from one foot to the other as he leans against the side of the house. “Which means they’re scattered—unorganized.”

Paloma and Harrie move onto the porch. I offer them a smile as they stand in the corner near Willa. “We can’t let them live,” I add. “Things may be peaceful for a time, but they’ll never let it stay that way. They will come back for what they lost.”

“Control,” Elijah finishes.

I glance at him. “Exactly.”

“We hunt them down,” Tarnley says, as he steps up onto the porch and moves to stand beside me. He leans back against the railing, one arm wrapping around my waist. “We kill every single one of the fuckers, and we burn their shit legacy to the ground.”

Everyone standing on the porch nods, a silent approval to Tarnley’s plan. “Any clues on where to start?”

“Actually…” My father steps up, surprising the hell out of me. “I might be able to help with that.”

“Where did you come from?” Rainey steps forward, just as surprised as I am.

I glance at Tarnley. Come to think of it, all of the supernaturals who should have been able to hear him coming look surprised at his arrival.

“Little spell, hunter. Makes me completely silent to the senses.”

“That would be handy to have.”

He turns to me, a half-smile on his face. “I’m happy to teach you.”

“How can you help us find them?” Willa questions.

“I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting, Alpha.” Clarance steps forward and offers his hand. “I’m Clarance Walsh.”

She looks to me, eyebrow arched. “Your father?”

“So it seems.”

He grins and shifts his attention back to her as he crosses his arms. “As for how I can help you, I know everything there is to know about the councils since I was the head of the immortal one for two decades.”

“An entire term at the very top, that’s unusual.”

“Yeah, well, it wasn’t worth what I lost.” His gaze briefly flickers to me, but I pretend not to notice as I stare at Willa. “The point is, I know where they vacation, where the houses they own are, how often they travel, their modes of travel—shit, I know what Odette likes to eat for breakfast.”

“The blood of the innocent?” Rainey jokes.

“Damn close,” he replies. “Fresh hearts from various small animals.”

Rainey turns about three shades of green, and it takes everything in me not to laugh my ass off, even as I am equally horrified. “That’s reason enough to kill the bitch.”

“Didn’t realize you were such an animal person.”

She shoots Fearghas a glare. “You don’t have to want to own one to care.”

“You can give us locations?” Delaney changes the subject with a side-eye at Fearghas, who was still smiling widely at Rainey’s discomfort.

“I can.”

“You really think they’re stupid enough to go somewhere you know of?”

“Even if they were to discover my involvement with your group, none of them know the extent of my knowledge. A move done strategically on the off chance I needed to—dispose of them at any time.”

“That’s dark. I approve.” Rainey glances at Elijah, then back to me. “We should have two teams: the home team working to keep the city safe, and the rest of—” Rainey stops speaking and glances out into the night. Elijah, Cole, Willa, and Tarnley all do the same.
