He pauses to draw in a long, deep breath. Then he exhales in a whoosh. “It’s really banging in there, by the way. But I believe the right words live in me. And I believe in us. So …”

“Spencer.” I swipe at my wet lashes. “You did it.” I meet his gaze. “You already said theexactperfect thing. Just now. And my insides are so full of love, there isn’t even room for anything else.”

“You see?” He lays a hand on his chest like he’s clutching at his heart. “This is why we belong together. Without trying. Or practicing. Or memorizing. Or planning.” He looks down, sliding the same hand inside his suit jacket. Then he pulls out a ring. A beautiful ring. Platinum band. One solitaire. Two baguettes.

Odd and even.

“Three diamonds,” I whisper.

He tilts his head. “If you know, you know.”

“Oh, wow.” My insides are melting lava. “Forget what I said before. My heart may be full, but there is definitely room for that on my finger.”

He takes my hand and oh-so-gently slips the engagement ring into place. His touch is so confident and so tender, I want to blink into the future and be married to him already. But then he lifts that strong, square jaw—both eyes locked on mine—and I know I’m in no hurry.

I have an eternity to love this man.

He rises to his feet, still holding my hand. “T-Time, you areitfor me. And I’m all in. Forever. Will you be all in too?”

I bite my lip and nod. “I’ll be all in two. Or three.” I shrug. “Whatever. Either way.”

He pulls me up and into his arms. “How about one day at a time?”
