“There’s a freckle under your left breast, only visible when you stretch. And one smack in the middle of your right ass cheek, but it doesn’t hide,” he said, matter-of-factly.

I scoffed. “There is not.”

“There is.” He didn’t seem to have an ounce of doubt.

Huffing a bit, I tugged my shirt open and lifted my boob, checking beneath it. “There is no freckle.”

“Move your bra.” Still no doubt, dammit.

I moved the wire down a bit, and lifted my boob a bit more, then blinked down at a freckle. It was a tiny little thing, barely there at all.

Damn.

“That doesn’t mean anything,” I said, letting go of my boob and sitting back down in my seat.

It did, though.

It definitely did.

“It means I was checking you out, which you decided I didn’t do,” he countered. “Which means you have no other argument in favor of me not being attracted to you.”

“You didn’t have an erection when we were in bed together,” I shot back.

Honestly, I didn’t even know if that was true. I’d been extremely careful to avoid his man-bits, other than the accidental incident where my toes met his balls.

His eyes narrowed at the road. “My wolf was awake for an entire year, June. I was sleeping. And I can assure you, every time I woke up, that damn thing reacted to you.”

My face heated a bit. “Sure it did.”

His hand tightened slightly on my thigh. The grip wasn’t anywhere near tight enough to be uncomfortable, and thanks to my damned throbbing body, it was a turn-on. “Call Del. Ask her how a male werewolf feels about his mate.”

“I’m not going to—”

He growled at me. “Call Del, woman.”

With another huff, I grabbed his phone out of the cupholder and called Del. She answered on the third ring. “Hey, Zed. How’s it going?”

“Not great.” I shot Zed a death glare. “Zed wants me to ask you how a male wolf feels about his mate, because I know he’s not attracted to me, and he keeps insisting that he is.”

Zed shook his head at me, his hand climbing up my thigh a bit and squeezing. I bit back a groan.

With the way my body was burning, that felt really damn good.

“Oh, yeah, he’s attracted to you.”

There was a pause.

“Del,” I grumbled.

“Sorry, Rocco’s distracting me. Basically, Zed’s wolf took a look into your eyes and decided that you were made for him. The wolf’s feeling transferred to the man, and it affects them in pretty much every way. You’re the most attractive thing he’s ever seen, you probably smell like the only meal he ever wants to eat again. And damn, wait until you see how your arousal affects him. It’s so freakin’ hot.”

I scoffed. “Really, Delly?”

“TMI, I know, whatever. Anyway, basically, that guy thinks you’re the most gorgeous, best-smelling woman on the planet, and he wants to fuck you. Hard. For the rest of his life. So quit questioning that before he just pulls over and proves it to you with his body. Unless you want to have sex against the side of a car—which does sound kind of hot, actually.”

There was a rumbling noise, and then Del laughed. “Sorry Jay, got to go. Love you, and don’t forget to use condoms unless you want to end up as big as me,” she yelled, before her phone call cut off.

I dropped his phone back into the cupholder.
