I jumped off my stool and pulled Seb off his. My clenched fist swung back and dropped towards Seb’s face, but stopped in mid-air.
“Go on,” Seb taunted me. “Go on, fucking do it.”
“I can’t,” I said.
“Pussy,” Seb taunted.
“Stand up both of you, you are both fucking idiots,” Kane yelled.
“What the hell happened there?” Ryan asked. Staring at me.
“Someone used their magic on me,” I hissed. “Who used their fucking magic on me? I’m from the fucking upper house. I’m superior to the three of you.”
“I usedmyfucking magic on you, and never say that to anyone again. You are no better than anyone else here,” Lacey said from behind.
Ah, shit.
My head twisted to the voice. She stood at the door with a towel wrapped around her body and looked sexy as fuck.
“You know, the four of you are pathetic. I spent some time with Jack and Blake, and they don’t act like you do. Yeah, they’re intense with me, but still…”
Kane pushed out his stool and rose to his feet. “I agree. I’m over it.”
“Sit down and listen to me,” Lacey hissed. “Do you want me to explain to you why I spent some time with Jack and Blake?”
Everyone nodded.
“Because I feel a connection with them. There are no arguments, no petty squabbling, just light-hearted fun and harmless sexual innuendos.”
“Sorry, we are pathetic sometimes,” Seb said.
“Do you want me to tell you something else about them I’ve only realised tonight?”
“Not really.”
“Tough shit.” She turned to me. “Because you, of all people, need to hear it.”
I blew out a breath. “Go on.”
“They’re knights.” We all stood and stared at her. Silence beckoned as she narrowed her eyes. “You already knew.” It wasn’t a question.
“Yes,” Ryan said. “How do you know?”
She sighed. “Because I feel them like I feel you four. I sense them and…”
“And…” Seb asked.
“Jack called me Sunshine, and it was very deliberate. He wanted me to know that he knew who I was. Later Blake was about to call me it too and Jack stopped him.”
She turned and walked up the stairs. “Oh, and something else,” she said as she turned. “I’ll decide who I’m going to lose my virginity to when I’m ready, and it might not be to any of you. Stop making it a thing.”
“Lacey, take my bed. I’ll sleep on the sofa,” Seb called.
