“And? Are they dead?” From the look on Anthony’s face, he would be breathing fire if he were a dragon. I chuckled at the thought. He narrowed his eyes at me.

“One of them is,” I answered, sobering as I rose to my feet, looking straight into his eyes. From this moment on, no one would question me again. “I poured acid in his mouth but tested it on his body first.” I smiled coldly. “I haven’t quite figured out what I’m going to do to the rest of them, but I’m going to save Lenny for last.”

Every ounce of blood drained from his face, and he eased back into his chair.

“Any other questions?”

I looked around the room.

“You poured acid in—”

“Well, first I poured it all over his body and watched his skin disintegrate, and then when he screamed one last time and his mouth was still open, I poured the rest of the acid in his mouth. He drowned on the acid as it burned his throat and lungs.”

“What are you going to do to the rest of them?” my father asked.

“I’m still not sure.” I let out a deep breath, contemplating. “Well, I know what I’m doing to Lenny but not the others.”

He nodded. “Okay.”

“You guys don’t have to worry about it. I got it handled.”

“We could call the MERCS—”

“No thank you, Anthony.” My head snapped up as I narrowed my eyes at him this time. “They raped me, and I will kill them myself. I’ve earned that right.”

“Okay,” my father said. “Anything else, anyone?”

The room was silent.

“When the club is ready and we have all of our ducks in a row, we will have a meeting to go over everything,” I said, meeting each of their gazes.

The men around the table murmured in agreement, albeit reluctantly.

“Okay, if that’s everything—”

“Actually….” Peter rose from his seat. “Why did you invite our wives to lunch, but you haven’t invited us to dinner or lunch or anything yet?”

“Peter, you don’t like me. None of you do.” I sighed. “You don’t want me here and you have all made that clear. And your wives and girlfriends are very pleasant. We had a wonderful time and ironed out some of their complaints.” I tilted my head to the side. Let them make of that what they will. “But would you like to have dinner with me?”

“It would have been nice to be invited,” Peter grumbled.

“I’ll tell you what,” I said, a smile lighting my lips. “I’ll plan another dinner and will invite everyone, you and your wives or significant others. Is that better?”

Peter smiled. It appeared that dinners and alcohol was a way to earn their trust and respect. If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought they were jealous.

One by one, the men left until it was just Nate, my father, and me. I waited until I heard the front door close for the last time.

“They wanted to have dinner with me?” I chuckled, shaking my head. “Is that why they were so angry?”

My father laughed. “I guess it hurt their feelings that you invited their wives and not them.”

“It was a women’s luncheon.”

My father chuckled, shaking his head. “Don’t ask me, but men like to have fun, too.” Then his expression turned serious as he tilted his head to the side. “Did you really pour acid—”

“She sure did,” answered Nate. “She fucked him up real good.”

“Good!” My father sighed. “Can’t wait to hear your plans for the rest of them.” I wasn’t sure what my plans were for anyone but Lenny yet, but it was going to be good.
