The next day, Nate took me back to the club so we could get some work done. “Should we serve food?” I asked, sitting at my desk, working on the list.

Nate stopped shuffling through papers and looked at me. “What? Why?”

“Food is good for you.”

He chuckled.

“And some people have a food fetish.”

He cocked his head to the side. “Why do you know this?”

I shrugged. “Read it in a book.”

He scoffed. “Well, stop reading.”

I laughed. “But not really. What do you think?”

“We still have the kitchen. We could use it.” He sighed. “We would have to get a cook and create a menu.”

“Actually, Liv, one of the wives, went to culinary school.” I let out a deep breath, thinking. “She said she’d like to start using her talents. I told her that I’d need to sample some of her cuisine first. But if everything went well, she could be in charge of the kitchen.” I shrugged. “It’d be keeping the business in the family, and I’d have her sigh an NDA, of course, along with everyone who works here.”

“Sounds good, but I’d wait on that for now.” He shrugged. “Maybe once we get everything up and running, we could come back to that.” He tilted his head to the side. “People have food fetishes? Seriously?”

I laughed. “Yes. Some people have a thing for needles too.”

“Are we—”

“No!” I shook my head. “We’re not going that far. That kind of thing has to be done in a sterilized environment and with someone who knows what they are doing.”

“I don’t understand the BDSM thing.”

“I thought you liked a bossy woman.” I chuckled, arching an eyebrow.

“I do, but not all the time.” He sighed, shaking his head. “Like submitting to someone and letting them do whatever they want with you. What kind of weak minded—”

“Being a submissive is not about being weak. It’s a fetish, like everything else. You submit to someone because it gives you pleasure. Just like for a dominant, dominating someone gives them pleasure. It’s not about having a weak mind. It’s about allowing yourself to bend to someone else’s will because it is what pleases you.”

“I don’t get it.”

I chuckled. “Fair enough.”

“You know a lot about this kind of thing.”

I shrugged. “I know what I know. How I know is a conversation for another time.”

He glanced around my office. “What’s wrong with now?”

I laughed, shrugging my shoulders. “I’m not telling you, Nate.”

He chuckled. “The secrets you keep.”

There was a knock at the front door, and I jumped up the second I heard it.

“It’s okay, Addie.” Nate jumped up and held his hand out to stop me. “It’s just Lucian. He said he might stop by.” Nate left the room to answer the door and I eased back into my chair.

“Hey, Red!” Lucian appeared in the doorway a few moments later. “How you been?”

I stood up and hugged him. “I’m okay. How are you?”
