“Follow me,” she said and turned left out of her office door.

With a sigh,I set down my briefcase and kicked off my shoes. When I had warned Dominick that today was going to be long, I hadn’t made it up, but it had seemed to go on forever.

He had spoken with Elaine, and she had gotten started working on the custody case. I’d found Howard Roguska to take Spencer’s case, and he’d wasted no time either. They both had a feeling that by tomorrow night, Spencer would be out of juvie and home with Dominick. I felt very grateful to work with some amazing people.

But I couldn’t discount Dominick. He was willing to do everything the lawyers told him to. Without complaint.

“Hot pizza coming through,” he said as he pushed open my door.

If only he would listen to me.

I had told him that I didn’t need any food, but he had insisted. And while I was starving, I was also tired. I was running on fumes, and I didn’t know how much longer I would last before I did something stupid.

Like kiss Dominick even though he was with someone.

I knew it was wrong, but the second I had seen him in a suit, almost all my brain cells had shut off. When my assistant, Amanda, had moved out of the way, all I could remember was standing in front of him like a dolt.

For someone who, at one time, hadn’t liked tattoos on men, I almost drooled at the ones that stuck out of Dominick’s crisp white shirt. And his black pinstriped suit? I hadn’t known whether to curse or thank the gods for delivering such a specimen as Dominick Reyes to my life. But I supposed I really had Gina to thank for that.

Fucking Gina. That was the jealousy talking.

Suddenly cranky and feeling every hour of missed sleep, I took the whole box of pizza into the living room and collapsed onto my couch. Lifting the lid, I reached for a slice and stuck it into my mouth as I slid down and put my feet on the coffee table.

Dominick laughed as he brought over plates, napkins, and two bottles of water. He had taken off his jacket and rolled up the sleeves on his dress shirt, making him even sexier. “I thought you weren’t hungry?” he asked.

“I changed my mind,” I said with a pout.

He took the box from me and exchanged it for a plate. We ate in silence, and after two pieces, I was still tired, but I was less crabby now that my blood sugar was no longer low.

Since Dominick was still eating, I thought it would be rude to kick him out, so I closed my eyes.

The next thing I knew, I was being lifted off the couch and carried to my bedroom.

“Dominick?” I asked even though it wouldn’t be anyone else but him.

“Yeah?”

“You don’t have to carry me.”

“Too late. We’re here.”

Gently, he laid me on my bed. Before pulling away, he paused, his face hovering over mine, and I licked my lips. My little nap had given me just enough energy to want sex. It had been so long.

Dominick groaned and stared at me.

“Fuck it,” he said and dropped his mouth over mine.

Yes, yes, yes, my pussy screamed from beneath my skirt, where it was getting wet for him.

I went for the buttons on Dominick’s shirt but grew impatient, so I pulled at it instead and got hit in the chin by a flying button.

I gasped as he stood back and laughed. His shirt was hanging open from where I’d torn off the buttons.

“Fuck, babe, that was hot.” He shrugged off the button-down and kissed me again as he lay down beside me and rolled me to my side. His tongue swept into my mouth, caressing over mine.
