She’s been around the property a lot since Lauren hired her, so much so that she kind of fits right in. But where she doesn’t seem to quite fit is with Dylan. How he managed to convince this beautiful woman to climb into his bed is beyond me.

“How’s it going, man?” Dylan asks as we walk up.

“Pretty fucking good,” Tommy announces, sliding his arm around my waist, possessively pulling me closer to him. He’s such an idiot sometimes, still thinking Dylan is interested in me.

“Congratulations,” Tessa says, smiling as she leans in to give us both a hug. “It was a beautiful night for a wedding. And I’m so glad I was able to work with both of you on getting that shed up to par for your mead making business.”

We took one of the old sheds on the property and with Tessa’s help and expertise, we were able to turn it into an additional tasting room that fits in perfectly with everything else here. It’s off a distance from some of the other buildings, but Lauren and Jack are now renting it out for private tastings and parties, and when it’s not being used for that, we hold reservation-only and small group mead tastings in it.

“We’re glad you were able to help us too,” I say, looking from her to Dylan, still wondering what exactly is going on, but even I’m not that bold to come right out and ask them, especially here.

We make some more small talk, thanking both of them for coming before it feels like neither of us have had a chance to breathe let alone sit down. The night has been more than I ever expected, and I’m exhausted and elated, and it all feels like a dream. A wonderful, beautiful, perfect dream, but somehow, this is now my life, our life.

“How about we call it a night and I take you home and see what you’re not wearing under this dress?” Tommy croons, his hands sliding over my ass.

“Sounds like a plan.”

And with that, we quietly leave our guests to start the rest of our lives together.
