Trey

Three weekslater

It's been absolute fucking torture trying to stay away from Sabine over the past few weeks. In fact, I've become so damn desperate to see her I've even snuck by the club when I knew she'd be there just to see her. Of course, without her knowing I was there. I'm sure if she saw even a glimpse of me, she'd find someone to put a fucking bullet between my eyes.

I can't say that I blame her. I was unbelievably ruthless. I did what I had to just to make sure she didn't think for a second that I loved her as much as she loved me.

I didn't love her the same way in fact, I think I love her more than she loves me.

She's moving along with her life though from what I've been able to find out she's back to her cold ways. She no longer wants to go out with her sisters or meet up with her brothers. She's at the club, making it work, but there's no interaction with anyone she doesn't have to interact with. The woman is hurting and it's my fault.

"Trey, are you even listening to what I'm telling you right now?"

Marcel waves a hand in front of my face, and I snap my attention to him. I've got no idea what he's saying at all.

"Sorry man." I tell him.

"You still thinking about that woman?" he sighs and leans back.

The fact that I hear him diminish who she is to me by calling her that woman makes me want to rip his fucking tongue out. "Her name is Sabine." I spit gruffly as I fisted my hands over and over, trying to release some of this rage.

"I know, brother. Look, you did the right thing. If she had found out who you were before this shit was over, we could have all gone down. You want her to be safe, right? "

"Yeah man, you know I do."

"Than you had to do what you had to do. This was the only way for her to be safe." He folds his hands in front of him, "In fact it looks like her whole family is safe."

My eyes jump up to his as I try to figure out what he's talking about.

"I don't know if you had anything to do with giving the Delancy family a heads-up, but they haven't bought any new businesses or made any new deals in the past month." Marcel raises one of his eyebrows at me, but I just look away. If he didn't figure out that I helped Felix as, yet I wasn't going to give him the answer now. He could go on thinking that it was just some random anonymous call.

"Well, whoever gave them the tip saved their asses. I just got word for the top that we got everything we need, we're going to take Dimitri down tonight."

My eyes widen and for the first time in weeks I feel my lips stretch up into a smile.

It's fucking over. I thought I'd never see the fucking day when I would get the fuck away from Dimitri and the rest of his fucking psychotic friends.

"Really? Oh, shit man. Thank fuck. Thank fucking god." I say over and over and let my head fall forward.

Marcel puts a hand on my shoulder and gives it a squeeze. It's been so long with me undercover, it finally feels like I'm about to be set free and go home. Except now that I'm able to go home, there’s nothing there for me to go to. My life is right fucking here with Sabine.

"Marcel, I don't know who you need to talk to, but" I lift my head up and try my hardest to get through the mess of thoughts in my brain. All the while my decision never changes, "When this shit is over, I'm done. I can't do this again. I got nothing left."

Marcel's face drops slightly, "You sure that’s what you want to do, man?"

"Yeah, I want out."

"Alright, let's get through tonight, and we'll get those papers signed. The force is never going to be able to replace someone like you."

I shrug, not really caring. The force is never going to be able to replace my Sabine either. Seems like no one is going to get what they want.

That nightthe cartel comes exactly like they are supposed to, and I'm right behind Dimitri when we pick up the truck loads worth of drugs. Dimitri takes care of the transaction and transportation and when we get to the warehouse I go in with everyone was busy trying to pack up all the heroin and crack. My heart beats a million miles a minute in my chest when a bright light shines through the windows and all at once, each of the exits suddenly burst open to reveal three fucking football teams of DEA and local police officers.

"Shit!" It's a fucking raid! Dimitri screams out and tries to rush out of the room that we're in. I followed behind him just far enough to make him think I had his back, but the minute that his foot hit the grass outside the warehouse, I hit him hard with the butt of my gun on the back of his head. He falls on the ground before he rolls over and stares at me. "Trey, what the fuck?" He curses at me. When I reach down and pull the badge I had hanging around my neck out of my shirt, I swear it looks like he fucking pissed himself. You're a fucking dead man! I promise you, you're a dad now! You have no fucking idea what I'm going to do to you! Your life is about to be fucking hell! " He yelled at me, trying to get up. I don't allow him to. Instead, I use my boot to step in the center of his chest and shove him right back down where he belongs, in the fucking dirt."
