I can feel my head getting bigger as I read her texts, both the one on my shoulders and the one in my pants.

To Sabine: I'm happy that I could impress you.

Suddenly, it's of the greatest importance to me that I let her know that I'm not trying to talk to her simply because we fucked . Sure, it was a great night but I want to get to know her a little better even if it means she's keeping all of her clothes on.

To Sabine: Honestly, even if it's not to see those pretty shorts, I'd like to spend some time with you. I enjoyed myself tonight, both before and after the sex.

From Sabine: Me too. Yeah, I think we can work something out.

To Sabine: Good. Get some rest. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Have a good night.

She sends me a new round of emojis before she tells me good night. When I slip my phone back into my pocket, I realize that there's a hue smile on my face. There's no way that I can walk back into this warehouse with this smile on my face. If there's one thing these bastards take notice to is when someone's too happy.

If I'm going to keep this up with Sabine, then I need to make sure I keep all that I'm doing on the down low. I can't let them think that anything about the plan has changed. I'll have to dig deeper into Dimitri's crew, but I also need to be able to protect Sabine. Letting Dimitri have her and get away with hurting her is not part of any plan that I have going on in my head.

I need to do all of this without blowing my cover because if I do that'll be years of work just down the drain, and I'm sure Marcel isn't going to want to have to deal with the higher ups if some shit like that happens. So, right now I'm going to take things slow.

I'm sure I'll have enough time to get everything together, simply off the fact that Dimitri has lost a step. If this were a few years ago, I'd have no time to get Sabine some place safe and out of harms way. Dimitri would be at her door right now with the fucking rope and tape in his hands, ready to whisk her away. Since he's gotten married, it's like his priorities have switched. He's more focused on what he and his new wife can do than trying to get the revenge he's been saying that he wanted. It might be months before he expects any type of move to be made against Sabine.

From what I've been able to gather, Dimitri thinks that no one is going to catch him before he has the time to get what he needs from Sabine and the rest of her family. The man has gotten way too cocky. It'll almost be too easy to bring him down, and when we do, we'll be bringing down the cartel as well. That's why it's so important I make sure to keep my head about what's going on. Sure, it's nice to have some fun with Sabine, but my end game is much more important than a fledgling relationship.

Dimitri thinks he's unstoppable, and it's my job to let him know that he most definitely isn't.

I put the emotional mask I always wear over my features as I step out of the car and walk toward the warehouse. Time to do some work for a living. Time to be the bad guy.
