“You like to push your brother’s buttons, don’t you?”

“It’s all in good fun. He can be too serious. He needs me and Coda to remind him he’s not even thirty.”

“He’s really intense,” she said. “A bit intimidating.”

“That’s what makes him so good at what he does.” Tyler motioned for the bartender. “Want a glass of champagne?”

“I’ve never had that before.” She looked around the room at the beautifully dressed people. Everyone looked happy and carefree. It was contagious. “I’d love a glass.”

“Tonight is going to be about many firsts, Sammy.” He placed a chaste kiss on her lips, but that simple gesture sent a charge through her. “I’m going to give you everything you’ve ever dreamed of, and more.”

“You already have.” She took a breath to center herself. “I would never have imagined I’d be standing here, in a place like this, with you tonight. I feel like I’m dreaming.”

“That’s exactly how I feel when I’m with you.” He stared into her eyes. “I don’t know how I got this lucky. I wasn’t looking for you, but here you are.”

“Life is full of surprises.” He had been the best unexpected thing that had ever happened to her.

“I have many weekend surprises in store for you.”

TYLER SIPPED HIS SCOTCHas he watched Coda and Sammy move onto the dance floor. Sammy shot him a seductive, little smile before blowing him a kiss.

He nodded at her.

Soon, my sexy girl, very soon.

“Why aren’t you out there yet?” Spencer asked as he came up and stood next to Tyler. “You and my wife are usually tearing up the floor by now.”

“Coda grabbed Sammy while I was talking to Grandfather,” Tyler said. “We’re not staying much longer.”

Now that dinner was done and the announcement that the agency was changing its name was out of the way, Tyler couldn’t wait to start the night alone with Sammy. It had been a long week.

“Big plans?” Spencer grinned.

“I hope so.”

“Oh, so it’s like that?”

“Don’t pry.” Tyler placed his empty glass on the table behind them. “It’s not polite.”

“Pry? Usually you can’t wait to tell me about your conquests. In great detail, I might add.” Spencer shook his head. “I don’t know where you get your energy.”

“This time it’s different.”

“Really?” Judging from the tone in Spencer’s voice, he didn’t believe Tyler’s declaration.

“She’s different.” He watched as she swayed her hips to the music and she laughed about whatever Coda had said in her ear. “I know it’s fast and I don’t tend to over analyze my relationships.”

“You haven’t had any serious relationships. You’re a player.”

“That’s what I’m saying. With Sammy around, I don’t even think about other women. Do you know how many texts I haven’t responded to since meeting her? Hell, I haven’t even been on social media. I don’t need to be.”

“I’m impressed.” Spencer studied the two women. “I hope it works out for you. She seems like a sweet girl.”

“But?”

“What?”
