“We have all night for you to do just that.”

The waiter came over and filled their glasses with water.

“Hello, Mr. Anders.” He turned and smiled at Kayla before asking Julian, “Will you be having the usual?”

“Yes, Marco. We’ll take the house salad with the raspberry vinaigrette and the tomato pie.”

Kayla was hoping he would want the tomato pie. It was the best in town. She’d been in the mood for it almost as much as she wanted that hello kiss.

“Would you like to add anything?” Julian asked.

“No, that’s exactly what I wanted.”You always know what I want.

“We’ll take a bottle of the Cabernet. The 2010.”

“Excellent choice.” Marco made his way back to the kitchen.

“So how did I get so lucky to score a dinner with my favorite guy on a Wednesday night?”

“Oh, you have that wrong. I’m the lucky one.” He took her hand in his. “I’ve missed you this week. I cleared my schedule so we could spend the evening together.”

“That was very um, romantic of you.” She squeezed his hand, recalling how he told her he didn’t do romance when they first got together. “You’ve come a long way.”

“So have you, my precious girl.”

She blushed because she knew what he was talking about.

“Don’t be shy.” He brushed her cheek. “At least now you know what a nipple clamp is.”

“I’m so glad I do.” She winked. “Can we use them tonight?”

“Maybe that will be on the agenda tomorrow night.”

“Tomorrow?” Her stomach fluttered as heat rushed up her neck. “You talked to him?”

“I did.”

“We’re starting tomorrow night?”

A rumble of excitement rolled through her, but it was quickly replaced with the anxiety of knowing this was the real deal. No more light play in Julian’s spare room. They were going to a real playroom to train with a Master. She’d tried to put it out of her mind all week, but she knew it was coming.

“Are you okay with that?”

She didn’t answer because Marco came with the wine and filled their glasses. Once he was out of earshot, she picked up her drink and took a long sip, allowing the expensive liquid to coat her throat.

“I’d like an answer.”

“Yes, I think.”

“Kayla?” He tapped his fingers on the table. “I’m trying to be patient.”

“I’m nervous.”

“I understand that, but you’re going to have to trust me. We can’t go into this with doubts. We can’t do this because you want to please me.”

“I do want to please you,” she mumbled. “More than I ever thought possible.”

“I’m satisfied with the way things are.”
