“Landon’s girl. Well, not technically yet, but it's going to happen one day. Hopefully soon,” he explains with a shrug. I decide this is a good stopping point for the day.

“I’m done,” I say, setting down all my materials and removing the apron.

“Thank fuck. Let’s get out of here,” Dean says.

“Where are we going this time?” I ask, picking up my bag from the floor.

“I thought we could go to someplace quiet for a change. Are you okay to ride on the back of my bike again?” he asks, looking at me worriedly.

“Did you bring your earplugs?” I ask simply.

“Of course.” He smiles at me before taking my hand and leading me down the hall.

“Hey Dean, I need to talk to you,” we hear another manly voice call from behind us.

“Not right now, Parker,” Dean says, not even bothering to turn around.

“It’s about the information you requested. Do you have a minute to talk… alone?” That has Dean stopping in his tracks, his grip tightening in mine. His sudden change in movement leaves me even more confused when I want to know what information he asked about. I also don't want to pull away from his touch, even to let him speak to his friend. Usually, someone touching me is uncomfortable, and I steer clear of it as much as possible. Dean, however, makes me feel safe and wanted. Now, I’m curious how good his touch would feel in other places. I can tell Dean wants to hear what Parker has to say, but he also looks down at me, torn and irritated, like he can’t stand all the interruptions.

“I’ll come find you later after I drop Rissa off,” Dean says, walking again. I look back one last time at Parker, who gives me a warm smile and a wink as I duck my head quickly and look at the ground.

What information could Dean possibly need?
