Callum:That’s great. Is she alright about the price?

Leah:Lol, no. Obviously, you prepped Arabella well and she didn’t tell her, but she asked me if it would make you feel better. I said yes. That’s when she accepted it.

Callum:Good. It does.

Leah:I know.

She smiled as she put her phone away. It was so like Callum, to feel good doing something special for a loved one.

“If you please follow Claire, she will help you with bridesmaid’s dresses.”

“Sweet!”

“How many will you have?”

“Bridesmaids? These two.” Mikayla gestured to Juniper and Leah as she got to her feet, putting one last cracker in her mouth.

“Mik!” Leah and Juniper said at the same time.

“What?”

“You want us as your bridesmaids?” Juniper asked.

“Yeah, of course.”

“Oh, lovely.”

Mikayla frowned. “Wait, I haven’t asked you, have I?” Laughing, Juniper and Leah shook their heads. “Sorry! I just thought it was a given.” She straightened and said with mock seriousness, “Leah. Juniper. Will you do me the great honor of being my bridesmaids?”

“Yes!”

“Absolutely!”

“Excellent!” She laughed as she hugged them both. “Now you can go through the trauma of dress fittings.”

“No trauma for me. I love it,” Leah said as they moved into the next room. “I’m gonna try on at least a hundred.”

“Yeah, I’m not complaining. Any idea what color?” Juniper had already moved over to a long rack

“Not really. I was sort of thinking we’d follow Mum’s lead.”

“Mine?” Nora asked, startled.

“I just thought for the photos, it would look good if there was a bit of color coordination. So you in a dark shade, the girls in a lighter shade of the same color. Then Dad’s suit accessories could match yours. The boys can match the girls.”

“The boys?”

“William and Callum,” Mikayla explained. “And Billy in a miniature version of William and Callum’s suits.”

“Do William and Callum have any idea about all this?” Juniper asked, the laugh in her voice unmistakable.

“You know what? I have no idea. This whole process is ass backwards, isn’t it?” She grabbed her phone from her handbag. “I’ll just text Rafe. You guys get started.”

“Mother of the Bride section over here, ladies, if you’d like to start there.”

“Claire’s onto it,” Mikayla said, typing furiously to Rafe.

“What color, then, Nora?”
