“Hm, not sure, Leah. I’d love purple, but then I’d also love green.”

“Hmm, okay. Let’s see.” Leah worked her way down the rack, flicking through quickly. “Here’s a green one, and here’s a similar style in purple.”

“Mik?”

“I love the shit out of the green one, Mum. Try it on.” As Nora followed Claire to the fitting room, Mikayla’s phone pinged. “Bloody hell. One guess who’s got the smarts in this outfit. Rafe asked them both yesterday. All formal, up on the terrace after dinner. Smart ass.”

“Callum never mentioned it. But then again, maybe he was distracted.”

“Ditto for William. Nora! I love that!” Juniper exclaimed.

“That’s so perfect. And these dresses will look great with it.” Leah handed Juniper a floor length dress in a soft, flowy material. “The minty green tone is good for both of us.”

“It’s ridiculous how easy this is,” Mikayla said.

“That’s because you don’t care about the details that much,” Leah said as she moved towards the change room.

“I care. I just don’t care to have to think about them. That’s what I’ve got you for.”

Leah laughed. “I’m more than happy to be of service.” She quickly changed into the dress, stepping out to stand in front of the mirror next to Juniper. She surveyed them both. “We’ll have to get the right bras. I took mine off because the straps were showing.”

“Same.”

“I should get some high heels,” she said, pushing up on tiptoe to try and match Juniper’s height.

“Yeah, you should, coz there’s me looking like an Ent again.”

“When did you ever look like an Ent?”

“Your wedding, Junebug. Don’t pull that face, it’s the truth.”

“Well, you were the most beautiful Ent the world has ever seen.”

“Rafe sure thought so!” Mikayla chuckled. “And he’ll look like a bean pole standing next to me, so we’ll be evenly matched. Right, I think we’re done here, if you guys are good with that?”

“Are you good with it?” Leah turned to survey the back view,

“Spectacularly.”

“Excellent. I’ll get changed and we’ll move on to the next activity.”

“Which is?”

“My lips are sealed, Mik.” Leah smiled to herself as she stepped into the change room. She slipped out of the dress and hung it carefully back on the hanger. She reached for her clothes, catching sight of herself in the narrow mirror. In just her underwear, she surveyed herself for a long moment, wondering what it was that Callum saw. Without giving herself a chance to second guess, she pulled her phone from her handbag and turned the camera on. She angled it as best she could, but the front view freaked her out too much so she turned. All she wore was white, lace French knickers that rode halfway up her butt cheeks. He’d like that, she thought as she cocked her hip a little and took the snap. She sent it with shaking fingers, then quickly dropped her phone and hustled into her clothes. Her phone pinged just as she was about to step out.

Callum:I want to kiss every inch of that skin.

She braced her hand on the door and blew out a breath. It was suddenly very warm in the change room.

“All good in there?” Juniper asked, her voice tinged with concern.

“Yeah, sure,” Leah replied, opening the door and smiling at Juniper. “I’ll finish up with Arabella if you guys want to head out to the limo.”

“Will you now?” Mikayla asked, her brow raised.

“Yes, Mik, I will.”

From the bridal shop, they moved on to shoes. It was a quick process. Mikayla chose a pair in deep, vibrant purple. “Billy will love them, at least,” she said as she handed them over to the sales assistant. “What next?”
