“Well, that’s going to be awkward when everyone gets here and you’re lying in bed, naked, at eleven o’clock in the morning.”

Leah turned over and forced her eyes to open. She was so tired. “I’ll just tell them it’s your fault. Which wouldn’t be a lie.” She looked at Callum, sitting on the bed gazing at her. So hot. Her husband was just so hot. “Jetlag sucks.”

“I know, sweetheart. You can go back to bed when everyone’s left. But Mik has texted me five times already, asking if they can come early. She’s busting to see you, apparently.”

Leah pushed to a sitting position. “Yeah, coz she wants all the honeymoon goss. Your sister’s a pervert.”

Callum grinned. “Come on, Mrs Sinclair. Up you get.”

Mrs Sinclair. She loved the sound of that. “Okay, but first…” She reached out and fisted his shirt in her hands, pulling him closer and laying a scorching hot kiss on him.

“Careful, or you won’t make it out of that bed,” he said when she finally let him go.

“You love it.”

“I sure do.” He pulled the blanket back, his eyes roving over her naked body.

“Don’t,” she said hastily, even as she felt her skin prickle with warmth. “It’d be more awkward if everyone walked in on us having sex.”

“I suppose you’re right.” The mournful note in his voice was unmistakable.

Leah grinned. “I’ve got time for a shower?”

“Yeah.” He pushed to his feet, stepping back so Leah could get out of the bed.

In the shower, Leah closed her eyes as the hot water streamed over her. She took a deep breath as a wave of sudden nausea rolled through her. Another deep breath and turning down the water temperature seemed to help. She stepped out of the shower just as Callum called out to let her know she had about five minutes before everyone arrived.

Ignoring the dragging lethargy that she hadn’t been able to shake in recent weeks, Leah hastily got dressed. She stepped out of the bedroom just as cars could be heard coming down the track.

“Brace yourself,” Callum said as he moved to the front door. Leah followed him, standing next to him on the veranda as they watched Nora, John, Juniper, William, Billy, Mikayla and Rafe with their dogs Wesley and Buttercup, all spill out of their respective cars. Leah’s heart sang as they all called out greetings as they crossed the drive. She’d missed them all.

As expected, Mikayla was first up the steps, throwing her arms around both of them. “I’m so glad you’re back!”

“Me too!” Leah said.

“Oh, so Paris sucked then?” Mikayla asked, her eyes dancing.

Leah had no time to reply in the craziness of greeting everyone else. Once that was done, they all made their way to the back deck. Leah stepped into the bedroom to grab a cardigan. It was a glistening autumn day, but the wind had a slight chill in it. Everyone had brought platters of food for lunch, and they were already laid out when Leah stepped through the door. She yawned as she sat down next to Callum.

“Honeymoon exhausting?”

Leah rolled her eyes at Mikayla, then turned to Callum. “I told you she was a pervert.”

“And I’ve told you I’m not afraid to admit it,” Mikayla replied, unrepentant.

Leah snuggled in when Callum put his arm around her. She could really do with another nap. Maybe she needed to get her iron levels checked.

“You okay?” Mikayla asked.

“Yeah, sure. Just jetlag, I guess.”

Mikayla eyed her steadily for a long moment. “You look a bit pale. Callum, give her something to eat.”

“I’m fine, honestly.” Leah smiled at Callum as he put a sandwich and some grapes on a plate and placed it in front of her. He gave her the same treatment as Mikayla had done, giving her a long, assessing look. She returned his gaze openly.

“Good,” he said, satisfied, and gave her a quick kiss.

“We going to have some wine to celebrate the honeymooners?” Juniper asked, reaching for the bottle in the middle of the table.
