“Huh?”

“Where do you want to live?”

He stopped walking. “You don’t want to live here?”

She raised her head. “I do. But I understand if you’d rather something closer to town. Or bigger. And that’s assuming you even want to live in Blessed Inlet long term.”

“Okay,” he started walking again. “Firstly, I’m happy to live anywhere, as long as you’re there.”

“Lovely,” Leah said, her insides warm as she kissed his cheek.

He stepped onto the veranda. “Secondly, I do want to stay in Blessed Inlet. I can’t imagine living anywhere else now that I’ve been home so long.”

Leah reached down and turned the handle on the front door. “What about the band?”

“I’ll figure it out.”

“And thirdly?”

“Thirdly, I love this little house of yours. I can see us being happy here for the rest of our lives.”

Leah’s heart turned over. “That’s great. That’s so great.”

He carried her into the bedroom, where the sliding door lay open, allowing a cool sea breeze to float into the room. It was softly lit by a low lamp on the bedside table and the glow of a half-moon glimmering outside. Callum put Leah on her feet next to the bed and she reached up, cupping his face in her hands, standing on tiptoe to give him a soft kiss. She sighed. “I almost forgot how good you smell.” She brushed his hair back from his forehead, reveling in his nearness. Weeks of missing him were finally over. They were here. And they were together. “Kiss me.”

They kissed and Leah sighed as she felt Callum’s hands slide over her body. A gentle, skimming touch that just lightly fanned the flames of her desire. She felt his hands at the zipper of her dress, slowly lowering it. The sound grated in the quiet. He traced his fingertips up her spine, smiling against her lips when she squirmed. When he got to her shoulders, he ran his fingers over and along her collar bone, up her neck, into her hair. Leah tingled all over at his touch, as light as it was. He tilted her head, pressing fluttery kisses along her jawline. Leah gasped when she felt his teeth graze her.

“Mmm,” she said. Needing to feel her hands on his skin, Leah slipped them under his shirt, tilting her head at the same time to allow him better access to her neck. “Can we get naked?” She smiled when Callum chuckled, kissing his way up her neck, her jawline, to her lips.

He reached up to the neckline of her unzipped dress and pulled it down over her arms, her hips and to the floor, kissing her the whole time. Leah broke the kiss long enough to pull his shirt over his head, then ran her hands over his chest, down his arms. She linked her fingers with his as she stood on tiptoe to copy him by pressing hot kisses to his neck, his jawline. She pulled his bottom lip between her teeth, then salved it with her tongue.

Callum pulled his hands from hers, gliding up her back to the clasp of her bra. The low banked fire in Leah went up a notch as he pulled her bra off and cupped her breasts with his hands. She moaned softly when he ran his thumbs back and forth over her nipples, causing them to pebble.

A ball of heat landed in Leah’s gut as his hands glided down her body to push her underwear off, then up the inside of her thigh. Her heart thudding hard, she widened her stance, gripping Callum’s shoulders when he ran the tips of his fingers over the damp curls between her legs, back and forth, ever so lightly. He was teasing her. Getting a little desperate, Leah slid her hand down his arm, covering his hand with hers and pushing it where she needed it. Between her legs. She could have sobbed with pleasure when she felt his finger push inside her. God, she ached. He gave her a light, gentle touch, not enough to send her over, but enough to send her desire higher. “Stop now,” she said softly.

“I love you,” he breathed against her lips before kissing her, running his hands lightly over her body. Leah lost herself in the moment. His hands, his lips, his scent. She was absorbed by it. With his arm around her waist, he pulled her with him to lie down on the bed. Leah broke the kiss to watch him as she pushed at his jeans, waiting impatiently as he shimmied out of them. Then she ran her hands over him. A slow, languorous touch that had his eyes darkening. Leah pushed him onto his back, pressing kisses down his chest as her hand wrapped around his cock. She moved down the bed so that she could take him in her mouth, her heart thumping at his explosive breath when she wrapped her lips around him. She loved knowing she could do this to him. That she had this power over him. She ran her tongue up and down the length of him, listening to his breathing become ragged the more she worked on him.

Almost overcome herself, Leah raised her head to look at Callum. He pulled her up so he could kiss her and she draped herself over his body.

“I love you.” He pushed her hair back from her forehead, his eyes glowing.

“Yeah, you said.”

The unexpected reply and the cheeky smile she gave him had Callum chuckling. “Smart ass.” He ran one hand down her back and gave her a light tap on her bottom. She threw her leg over him, gasping when he pushed into a sitting position and wrapped his arms around her.

“Now?”

“Now.”

Leah rose up, then lowered herself onto him, sighing as she felt him filling her. She opened her eyes, laid her hand on his cheek. “I love you, too.” She would never get sick of seeing that glow in his eyes. Leah started moving, dropping her forehead to Callum’s as she moved her hips up and down. Slowly. Torturously. She felt the slow burn, the deep ache. Felt cherished by Callum as he kissed her. Felt his love wrap around her. Gave herself up to him entirely as the first ripples of climax moved through her. The long foreplay, the gradual build up, pushed her higher than she’d ever been. Then she was swept away, her body convulsing with Callum’s as they came together, her fingers digging into his shoulders, his arms holding her tight. The tremors kept coming and she surrendered to the pleasure, until it became so intense that she felt the hot sting of tears. Callum collapsed back on the bed, taking Leah with him. Neither of them spoke. Words were unnecessary. After a long while, Leah shifted off Callum, snuggling in when he kept his arm around her. He held her hand in his where it rested on his chest, over his steadily beating heart. Leah closed her eyes as the breeze sighed softly through the sheer curtains and the waves lapped gently at the shore. All around her was peace and love and pure joy.

EPILOGUE

A few months later

“Leah, sweetheart, wake up. They’ll be here soon.”

“Mmm, I don’t want to.” Leah turned her head away. Her lips curved in a smile as she felt Callum’s hand reach under the blanket and slide over her bottom.
