“Yeah. Paris actually.” Her shoulders slumped. “But he probably wants nothing to do with me ever again. I don’t know. It was…intense. I was just convenient for him while he was on his trip.”

It was on the tip of my tongue to ask who it was, but I thought better of it.

“She likes you,” Piper said, changing the subject. “She likes you a lot. Always has but I see it more now. I know I haven’t been home in a while, but you have her heart, Zach.”

“I like her too,” I confessed. How could I not? Luna had been the only woman to make me drop to my knees and beg for her to do whatever she wanted to me.

“She’s liked you for years but I’m sure you knew that already.”

“I did.” And I felt the same way. I had always felt the same way, but I also had to protect myself and her from the vileness that threatened to bleed from me.

Luna took that moment to sit back down beside me. “Miss me?”

I did. I did more than she would ever know.

(Luna)

“I’m going to take Luna for a drive,” Zach told Gigi as she stepped out of the vehicle.

“Okay.” She waited while the twins, Meadow, and Piper were out of earshot before she opened my door. She leaned in toward me and gave me a hug. “Be safe.”

“Always.” I was expecting Zach to just drop me off and that be it.

“Have fun kids,” she told us both. “And don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

“That doesn’t leave me many options,” I teased.

“I’m not my sister,” Gigi joke.

Laughter erupted around us.

She shut the door, gave us a wave, and headed toward our house. We waited for her to enter before Zach drove away.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked him, taking off my shoes. Rubbing the balls of my feet, I winced as a sharp slice of pain shot up my calf.

“Somewhere neither of us have been.” He tapped my hip. “Lean against the door and put your feet in my lap.”

I did as I was told.

He cupped my foot, massaging his thumb into my heel.

I moaned, a hot shiver racing down my spine.

“Feel good?” he asked, his eyes twinkling in the dim lighting of the moon.

“Mmmhmm.” I sighed. “God, you’re so good with your hands.”

He chuckled. “You seem surprised by that. Remember all the times I’ve made you come already, Moonbeam.”

“Oh. Yeah.” My cheeks burned. “Well either way, it feels good.”

“Good.” He kept up the movements, massaging the pain from the shoes out of my feet.

“Where are we going?” I asked him, my eyes fluttering closed.

“Just for a drive. I need to get away.” That familiar tick in his jaw beat in tune with my heart. This would be the first time we would be alone. Truly alone.
