When I stepped into the shower, I turned on the water and let it rain down over me.

“Busy?” The bathroom door shut.

I turned as Tanner stepped into the shower with me. He was beautiful. Every hard line of his body twitched under my scrutiny. His flaccid cock jumped, making heat spread between my legs.

Clearing my throat, I looked away but not before I caught the grin spreading slowly on his face.

“You good?”

“You keep asking me that, but I have no idea how to answer you.” I spun back around.

“Baby.” He came up behind me, wrapping his hands in my hair. “I’m sorry for what you saw.”

I let out a hard sigh. “Is that what you’re worried about?” I turned in his arms, placing my hands on his chest. “Are you worried that because of what you did, I’ll leave you?”

Tanner leaned his forehead against mine. “A little bit.”

“Tanner.” I cupped the sides of his neck. “You saved my life. How could I leave you because of that?”

“You saw me kill Tommy. You saw that part of me that I’ve been trying to keep hidden for so long. I just…I’m a monster. I really am.”

“No.” I stood on tiptoes and placed a hard peck on his mouth. “You are not a monster. Sure, you’re a little bit sick and twisted but who isn’t?”

He rolled his eyes. “Busy.”

“Listen to me.” I cupped his face. “I love you. I am in love. With you. I am carrying your baby. Yes, I know we didn’t meet under conventional circumstances but who gives a flying fuck?”

His lips twitched.

“I want to spend my life with you.”

Tanner let out a slow breath. “You do?”

I gave him a small smile. “I do.”

He ran his fingers along my cheek. “Does it hurt?”

“A little bit but I think what you did to him, hurt him more.”

Tanner pushed away from me. “You can’t joke about that shit, Busy.”

“Hey.” I grabbed his arm, pulling him back toward me. “I’m not trying to make light of the situation, but the guy was a bastard.”

“I know he was but he…I thought…”

“You thought he was your friend,” I finished for him.

Tanner nodded. “I guess I’m not as scary as people think.”

“Oh, I’ve always known you weren’t as scary as people say you are.” I winked.

He chuckled. “Have you washed your hair or anything?”

“No. I just got in here when you joined me.”

“Good.” He pulled me in front of him and pushed me gently under the water. “Let me wash you, Busy.”

My heart jumped.
