“I don’t know. I’m sitting here staring at a bottle of Jack, wondering if I should drown myself in it or not. Mason’s on his way to help me decide.” He sighed. “You busy tonight?”

“Yeah, I’m heading to Gigi’s with dinner. The baby is craving pizza with salt and pickles on it. Not anchovies. Just salt.” I grimaced at the thought but was happy to make my girl’s craving disappear. Until the next time anyway.

“And pickles?” Rory chuckled. “I like salt but not on pizza and definitely not with pickles.”

“Same.” I gripped the steering wheel. “Listen, I’m sorry about what happened.”

“Don’t be. It’s not your fault. Before we even started dating, she asked me if you were single. I should have taken the hint then, but I was blind I guess.”

“No, you were in love,” I corrected him. “I get it.”

“I just wanted to tell you that there are no hard feelings or any of that shit and if you and Gigi need anything, I’m here. Both Mason and I are here.”

“Thank you.” A thought came to me. “Actually, I’m going to hold you to that offer.” I explained what I needed and how it would have to be done before the baby was born. It would be my little surprise for Gigi, and I knew that with the way things were going between us, she wouldn’t complain.

Rory agreed and I knew that Mason would as well.

When I arrived at Gigi’s house, it was pushing nine at night. I had spent the day with my dad, helping him fix up the center. It was constantly being worked on. Our moms were wanting to expand it some more. The place had become so big that large corporations were donating as much money as they could to help with the upkeep of the place. I wasn’t sure our moms ever thought it would become as big as it had.

Parking the car in the long driveway, I grabbed the pizza box and garlic bread sticks and left the vehicle.

When I entered the house, there was no sound of anyone moving about. “Babe?”

Closing the door, I locked it and kicked off my shoes before heading down the hall. I was stopped short by Gigi sleeping on the couch with her hand on her stomach. She was sporting a small bump now and she looked absolutely beautiful carrying my baby.

My heart swelled at seeing her and my dick stirred, clearly happy to see her as well.

Placing the pizza box on the coffee table, I pulled the blanket off the back of the couch and spread it over Gigi.

She stirred, her eyes fluttering open. “Hi.”

“Hi.” I leaned over and gave her a soft kiss on the mouth. “I have food for you.”

“Oh.” She sat up, rubbing her eyes. “I was going to watch TV but must have fallen asleep instead.”

I sat beside her and opened the box. “You need as much as rest as you can get.” I handed her a piece of pizza.

“Thank you.” She took the slice from me.

By the time I was done my first slice, she was already on her third. “Hungry?”

She laughed. “Apparently.”

I chuckled.

“How was your day?”

“Good.” I finished my slice before continuing. “Rory and Tenise broke up.”

“Oh.” Gigi’s shoulders slumped. “That’s sad.” She pouted.

“Hey.” I pulled her into my arms, kissing the side of her head. “If they are meant to be, they’ll work through this. And if it’s not, they’ll find someone who’s meant to be their person.”

Gigi looked up at me then. “Like us?”

“Am I your person, Queenie?” I asked, cupping her face.

“Well I am having your baby.” She waggled her eyebrows.
