I’m looking at the damage they did to Hector’s ride. “We’ll take care of it, Hector. We need to find out who is leading theseputos.”

“Orale, Mase.”

“Yo, Leo?” Leo glances my way. “You still know that guy that does custom paint to hook up Hector with a nice mural?”

Leo nods. “Yeah, I got a guy back in LA. I’ll tell him to pick up and deliver. Why don’t we get Linda? You know she does some nice work.”

“You heard, Hector?” He lifts his chin. “Yeah, Carnal. I appreciate it and I will find out who these fuckers run for. This isn’t good. They’re fucking with our shit, and it makes us look weak.”

“I agree. Let me know what you want to do about the car. Linda or LA?” I ask.

“I think I’m going to give Linda a shot at it. She has done some good work to Smiley’s ride.”

“Orale.”

We ride out and head back to campus at Hillside University. After thirty minutes of driving, the four of us head our separate ways, all heading out to class. When I walk into econ class, I see Lucy smiling with Khalani and my chest tightens. So does my cock. Her blue eyes light up while she talks to Khalani but when her gaze falls on mine, it goes dark. I look away and head up the stairs so I can at least watch her without her noticing.

The Texan that was talking to her the other day got the message and doesn’t look her way. Good. A girl walks in and sits next to me. I think her name is Katie or Kathryn. I’m not sure, but she turns and smiles at me.

“Mason, right?”

I try not to cringe. Fuck. “Yeah.”

“You were awesome at the last football game. I watch all the football games.”

“That’s nice,” I say dryly.

“Hey, I was wondering…” She trails off when I’m not paying attention, my attention is on where Khalani and Lucy are seated.

Khalani must have heard the girl seated next to me and she turns to look at me and the girl next to me raising her brows. She looks at Lucy while she is writing in a notebook and then glances at me. After a few seconds, Lucy turns around to see what has Khalani’s attention. The look on Lucy’s face is neutral, not blank like before, but a look of indifference. Is she over me completely?

I turn toward the girl I have no intention of going out with. “What was your name again?”

She smirks at Lucy. “My name is Katie, and I was going to ask if you wanted to have lunch after class or hang out sometime?”

“Give me your phone,” I tell her.

She hands me her phone so I can give her my number.

I hand Katie her phone and when I glance back in Khalani and Lucy’s direction, Khalani frowns and shakes her head. Lucy is back to scribbling on her notebook like nothing is amiss. My stomach sinks because it can’t be true. I have no intention of going out with Katie, I was just trying to get a reaction out of Lucy. I’m quickly realizing it was a stupid move that just bit me in the ass.

“What do you mean, she’s over it? How?” I ask Colton and Leo back at the house, sprawled out on the oversized couches in our living room.

I told them what happened in class and how the look on Lucy’s face was confusing, not to mention Khalani’s reaction when I gave Katie my number. The stalker has called me like five times already.

Leo chortles. “It means she’s fucking someone else, dumbass.”

“What the fuck? Who?”

Colton shakes his head. “Whoever it is, they’re laying down the pipe.” He makes hand gestures, putting his finger in a hole.

My face contorts in anger. “That is not possible. Aiden has her on lock, even if she is allowed to date. I need to know who it is.”

Leo snorts. “Why? You gonna threaten the guy who is actually making her smile?” Leo shakes his head at me. “Leave her alone, Mason. You have hurt her enough and all you’ve been to her is a dick.”

Colton told Leo about Lucy and me, but said he will leave it up to me to tell Aiden the truth. He believes Aiden will understand because Lucy and I were so close. I know I fucked up, but I’m trying to win her back. Even if she just wants to be friends, I will have to accept it.
