“Emily is trying to say she was hooking up with Lorenzo all through high school is what happened,” Judith said as she stood and walked over to the pizza, helping herself to a slice. “I call bullshit.”

Katrina shook her head as she clung to her brother, her tears soaking through his shirt. “It can’t be bullshit,” she managed to say.

“You think that’s why he’s avoiding talking to you?” Justin asked, and Katrina nodded. “I don’t care if it was 10 damn years ago; I’m kicking his ass for this.”

“Oh, come on.” Judith popped open her beer and took a long drink. “Ten years ago. And I’m sorry, but that’s no reason for Old Man Torrence to have a coronary.”

“Judith.” That was all Justin said, his voice firm, and Judith sighed.

“Fine. But I say tell Cade to get his ass here and go over these plans. Then hit him with what Emily said.”

“She wants her puppy,” Katrina whispered, sniffling again. She pulled back from Justin. “Call him.”

“No, you call him.” Justin grabbed Katrina’s phone. “Let that bastard hear what he’s doing to you.”

Katrina shook her head as she stood. “Give me a minute,” was all she said as she made her way down the short hallway to her bedroom. Once there, she closed the door, allowing her tears to flow as she remembered...oh, she remembered...

Lorenzo’s hands caressedher body as he lay still. He kissed her tears away one by one as they dried. She could feel him inside of her, filling her completely.

It had stopped hurting.

“Ren?” She whispered her plea, and he moaned as he pulled back, then pushed forward once more.

“You’re so beautiful.” His ragged breath, his whisper against her ear made her whimper.

Made her move.

The shock that flowed through her as the sensations spread had her gasping.

“I’ll hold back,” he said, his voice soft as to not travel over the field up to the stars, towards the throngs of people at the pool party following prom. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

It was her turn to moan as he moved again. “Hurt me,” she pleaded. “Hurt me, Ren.”

“I could never hurt you,” he breathed as he began to move slowly within her, pulling back, pushing a little further in each time. “It would be the death of me, Trina. You, us...it’s so right. This is how it should be, always.”

Beneath the stars they declared their love, their devotion, their promises as they moved together, each stroke bringing an almost unbearable pleasure to her.

“Ren, please,” she whispered against his lips, not knowing what she was asking for, just knowing that she needed more.

More.

“Ssssssh.” He kissed her again, deeply, and he moved his arm to hook around her knee. “Are you sure?”

Beads of sweat clung to his hair as he hovered over her, stars dotting the sky behind him.

She knew she would always remember him this way.

“Yes,” she finally said, and as he lifted her leg, pushing deeper inside of her, she arched her back. “Yes.”

First times always hurt, they’d said.

And it had.

And then it became a beautiful dance beneath the moonlight that left her panting and begging for more. Her eyes squeezed shut as sensations flooded her body, tingling from her head to her toes, forcing her hips up to meet his as she came.

“So beautiful,” he breathed before his last shudder and sigh. “This is how it’s supposed to be. Always.”
