"Uhm, hi? I'm Nick Parker and I just wanted to know if there's an internship position…" I started explaining but she raised her hand.

"You're Nick?" she asked while sizing me up, "Well aren't you quite the snack? You're pretty fast though, ladies don't like that."

Wait, what?

"I... uh don't understand," I scratched my head in confusion.

"Just grab a seat sweetie, I'll be right with you," she said and got up to leave.

Something wasn't right. Did Hunter leave a word for me here or something?

The receptionist returned with a man who seemed to be in his early 20s.

"Ah, Mr. Parker, I should give you kudos for getting here so fast," he said as he stretched his hands towards me.

I accepted it, "Thank you."

Something was off. Were they expecting me already?

He invited me to his office corner and we talked about graphic design and other related topics. He asked about my hobbies and I showed him my pictures. He was impressed.

"That's really amazing, welcome aboard Mr. Parker," he remarked, "I'm sure you'd fit right in here."

The last part seemed like he was worried about something. He asked me to resume fully the following day.

As he walked me to the door he said, "Uh for your next job application be sure to attach your headshot."

"What?"

"Hmm?"

"I mean oh yeah sure my bad," I chuckled nervously.

He nodded and walked back inside. No doubt about it… I had takensomeone else's job.
