"Wow, there’s even a hot tub out back," Cyrus squealed. "Porter, we should get changed and jump in."

Porter looked just as excited but he didn't move. Instead his startling brown eyes focused on Jaygen. "Are we getting separate rooms?"

Ever since Porter ended up in Ozni's bed, they'd gone back to sleeping together. Now, they just switched among Ozni, Cyrus, and Jaygen's room.

"No and do not worry I went ahead and requested a larger bed," Jaygen said as he walked past the group to the master suite. He pushed open the doors and sure enough, the bed he'd purchased was there. An Alaskan king took up the entire wall. The owner of the rental had been wary, of course, but once Jaygen was willing to pay them more than they'd normally make for renting the place out for a few days, they were more than happy to accommodate.

"This bed is fucking huge." Foi belly-flopped onto it messing up the perfectly made bed instantly.

Jaygen had the urge to make the wolf fix it, but he squashed it down. He just mentally added a tally under Foi's name. The wolf didn't know it but he was racking up quite the number of marks and would pay with the tiger’s flogger.

"Wow and it's comfortable," Porter said as he laid down next to Foi.

Cyrus quickly joined them on the bed and there was still plenty of space. The incubus pulled Ozni to the bed and the tall daywalker curled around him as if he could fall asleep. Jaygen watched all of them for another second before he started grabbing their bags.

He needed to get everyone unpacked and everything in order before he'd be able to truly relax there. He picked up one of Porter's bags.

"Jaygen, wait," Porter shouted just as Jaygen unzipped it.

He didn't have a chance to ask him why as two black ears popped up and then the face of Jaygen's nightmares blinked up at him. The damn creature had clawed up more of his belongings than anyone else's. He swore the beast had it out for him. But more importantly, why was he there?

"Porter," Jaygen called out in a warning growl.

Porter leapt over to them and scooped the cat up. "I couldn't leave him behind. Just look at him!" He held the black cat up to Jaygen’s face. "This is the face of an angel."

"More like a demon," Jaygen muttered, but there was nothing he could really do about it now. "Did you bring all of his stuff or do we need to take a trip to the store?"

Porter's eyes widened slightly. "He can stay?"

Jaygen sighed. "Yes, but know it's your ass later, boy."

Porter visibly shivered. "That's fair."

Jaygen shook his head and went about taking stuff out of the bag.

"Yes, I brought all his stuff," Porter finally answered.

Jaygen nodded and went about putting everything away, luckily none of them questioned him and his need for control. He'd always assumed any person he'd let in would balk at his need for control and order and yet here he was with not one but four men. And sure, Foi gave him shit, Cyrus tested the line often, and Porter poked at him, but none of them ever tried to strip him of his control. Ozni didn't have to fall in line with Jaygen; he was by far the stronger supernatural, but the quiet man let Jaygen take the lead on many occasions.

Spooky zoomed across the bed in front of Jaygen and he shook his head. Why in the hell had Porter brought that thing? "He gets his own room." Jaygen pointed to the creature.

"Ah but Spooky sleeps best with us," Porter said.

"Especially curled up against Jaygen," Foi mock whispered.

Jaygen growled and they all burst with laughter. There was no way that fur ball slept curled up with him. Jaygen would have known, right? But he'd been getting deeper and better sleep ever since he'd started sleeping with all of them. Would he know? He glanced up at Ozni and the man had the audacity to avoid his gaze.

Fuck.

The sun was finally startingto calm a little. All day they'd stayed on the beach exploring every inch of it before plopping down onto their towels. Jaygen had called it a day early and was actually lying back on his spot, a tablet in his hand, reading. Every once in a while his eyes scanned the area and Porter smiled. He was looking out for them even now. It was tempting to crawl over to him and curl up, but Porter wanted the tiger to relax too. He deserved it.

Porter wrapped his arms around his legs and stared out at the water. Cyrus was perched on Oz's shoulders and Foi was being a loud ass as usual. Even from where he sat, Porter could hear him taunting Cy who was kicking water at him. Porter chuckled.

How are they all adults? There's no way. Look at them.

Watching them made Porter long for his sister. They had been like that together; carefree, silly, and happy when they were alone. Even with all that they had gone through, there had been little pockets of joy that Amy had filled with her bright smile and creative worlds. He'd lived inside of the stories that she created since they were young and now he missed her so badly it hurt.

Porter wondered if she was okay. Had their father taken his anger out on her now that he was gone? Was he hurting her in his place?
