Eldon licked his lips.He hoped that was a promise. Not to get sidetracked again, Eldon took a step back from Arden.

“Spooky, stay still,” Arden said.

“It tickles,” Spooky whined, but he obeyed Arden nonetheless.

“I have a question,” Eldon said.

Arden looked up at him, his amber eyes capturing Eldon with ease. He truly would follow the dragon even if he led them to the underworld. Eldon wouldn’t falter in a single step. The vampire knew that when Arden looked at him his existence was worth something. Maybe it was stupid, the way he placed so much on someone, but if anyone could handle it, Arden could.

“Is it who will bend over?” Gamble asked. Spooky chuckled and Eldon spared him the barest of glimpses. “I already know it will be you.”

Gamble’s jaw dropped and no doubt he was getting ready to place his foot right in his mouth. But Eldon spoke before they could get sidetracked.

“When you say we belong to you and you to us, that means no one else will be joining us, right?” Eldon asked.

Spooky pulled away from his tailor. “Eldon, are you seeing someone else?”

What was with this group thinking? Eldon was seeing or drinking from others? He’d been on the bag stuff until them and sex, well, he’d given that up until he met Arden and the others. Things had quickly spiraled, but during that time Eldon hadn’t once wanted someone outside of their group even when they weren’t a group yet.

Arden growled and was up in the next second. Before Eldon could say anything, the dragon was in front of him, his hand around Eldon’s throat.

“Out,” the dragon roared.

None of the people working asked him one question or gathered their things. They simply fled. “Do I need to mark my territory?”

Eldon audibly swallowed. “It was just a question.”

“A bad one,” Bash snapped.

Eldon’s gaze flicked over to the others; they didn’t look too happy either.

“I won’t ask you again,” Arden said.

A shock wave of pleasure robbed him of thought as he involuntarily took a step back. The predatory stare he was getting from Arden and Bash was triggering his fight or flight instincts. Eldon broke free of Arden’s hold and scrambled away. Every step the vampire took, they followed.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Arden reached for Eldon and he attempted to dodge but the room shifted right before his eyes.

The floor went from marble to a sandy beach. Eldon could even smell the salt from the ocean. The wind through his hair and the— Eldon glanced up and squinted. The sun blazed down on him but he wasn’t burning alive. There was only warmth. Before Eldon knew what was happening, he was back in the room with the fabric spread everywhere and cart after cart of clothes. He blinked and Arden and Bash came into view.

“Gamble,” Eldon growled.

He found the witch smiling at him, standing not too far off. Shit, his illusion had felttooreal. And if Eldon wasn’t currently facing Arden and Bash, he might have complimented him.

Arden gripped his face and jerked his gaze back to him. Bash moved behind him, placing his large hands on Eldon’s shoulders. The bear shifter applied the tiniest bit of pressure but Eldon knew what they wanted him to do. He could fight them or he could do what he really wanted to and drop to his knees.

The moment his knees touched the marble floor, Arden stepped even closer, overwhelming Eldon with his presence. There was no better feeling than the heat radiating off of Bash behind him. He was boxed in on both sides.

Eldon’s fangs dropped down and Arden’s fingers pressed into his jaw. “Fangs away. Now.”

The vampire flicked his tongue over his fangs, enjoying the way Arden wavered closer to him. Maybe he should be a bit more cautious, but the dragon begged to be teased at times.

“Afraid of a little bite?”

“We both know I’m not,” Arden growled.

A shiver raced down Eldon’s spine and he retracted his fangs. Smiling up at Arden, he winked. “Better?”

The dragon ran his thumb over Eldon’s tongue stroking it softly. “You have some interesting piercings.”
