Porter groaned. "Time for me to go put out another fire. I'll call you once PGD is closed."

Arden nodded. "Alright, but you don't have to. Things are crazy around here and I don't need to be checked up on."

"Everyone says bye," Porter said, completely ignoring Arden’s words. "Talk to you soon!"

The call ended and Arden pulled the phone away from his ear. He stared at it for a while before he pushed his cell into his pocket and pinched the bridge of his nose. Porter was a hell of a lot more headstrong than he'd been before and it showed.

Arden couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips as pride swelled in his chest. He’s come so far.It was always good to his voice.Allof their voices. It wasn't just Porter that called to check in on him. Jaygen asked about the bar, Foi asked what he’d been eating lately, Ozni was mostly quiet but he listened a lot, and Cyrus always inquired whether or not he was fucking anyone yet. According to the incubus, he needed it. Badly.

Maybe he's right. Feels like it's been forever.

He reached down and palmed his balls. They were heavy and desperately in need of a good draining. Usually, he handled it himself, but lately, he'd begun to imagine pinning one of his hot little hosts or his guard to the bed and fucking into them until he spilled his seed deep in their asses. He entirely blamed his lack of control on goddamn Spooky.

"Fuck!" Arden gritted his teeth. How long could he deny that he was in desperate need of stuffing one of them with his cocks?

The bell to his office rang and he glanced up at the monitor. Bash stood there and had a hand wrapped around Gamble's upper arm. Arden had allowed the troublemaker to work for the past few days without saying a word, but now he had some choice words for him and Gamble wasn't getting away.

He pressed a button and the door unlocked. "Send him in," he said as he spoke into the speaker. "That's all I need for now, Bash."

The bear nodded and pushed Gamble through the doorway. Arden's eyes lingered on him and he felt his stomach tighten once more. Bash was abrasive, rough around the edges, and could be standoffish, but he was a hard worker. Arden admired that about him. He put his head down, did what he was told, and was loyal. That didnotmean he had a similar draw to Bash that he had to the others.

...Right?

His eyes lingered on the bear shifter for entirely too long taking in every wisp of red hair and the way his muscles bunched underneath the black and green flannel he wore. Arden vaguely wondered what the man’s beard would feel like beneath his fingertips. His cock twitched and he shoved his legs together tightly.

Gamble shuffled into his office, his eyes wide like a deer in headlights. Arden stood up and rounded his desk. "Close the door," he said.

The man stared at him for a minute. "Maybe we should leave it open."

Arden's eyes narrowed. "Close it. Now."

A shiver rippled over Gamble. He watched the man take his time to close the door before he reluctantly walked back over to him. Arden stood there taking him in before Gamble started rambling.

"I thought we were past the wholeI trapped you in an illusion by accidentthing and we were going to move past it. We've been normal for almost a week now, I think that's enough time. It wasn't a bad illusion either. Who doesn't like the beach, right? I-"

"Shut up," Arden snapped, folding his arms over his chest. "Accidentally?"

Gamble cringed. "Sure."

“No one likes the beach if they’re stuck in the fucking water,” he snapped.

Gamble swallowed thickly. “See, what had happened was-”

"I don't think so," Arden said as he stepped closer. Gamble tried to retreat, but Arden wasn't having it. He yanked Gamble forward by his shirt and held him in place. "If you ever pull that shit on me again, I'll toss you out on your ass. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal," Gamble squeaked out before he cleared his throat, lowered his voice an octave, and tried again. "Crystal, boss."

Arden looked him up and down. "Good. We both know this place is better for you than the Manetti’s, so if you're trying to scramble back there, don't even think about it."

Gamble frowned. "I wasn't," he muttered.

"You were," Arden countered. "But you don't belong there."

Olive green eyes turned up to his and he saw the emotions flickering in them. "And where do I belong?"

Arden's heart squeezed. Was that pain?He reached out and touched Gamble's cheek. Gamble blinked at him, confusion clouding his features. But he didn't pull away. Arden stepped closer and everything in him screamed to kiss and hold and fuck the man into the ground until he knew exactly where he belonged.

And who he belonged to.
