"Tell me about it," Arden muttered as he picked up a towel and began wiping down the bar after dumping the Moscow Mule. "I'm fine."

"Are you?" Spooky leaned on the bar, his head tilting to the side. Black hair spilled over his shoulder, his brown eyes gazing up at Arden. "Because you look like you're going to burst. Are you pent up? You could take it out on me." He grinned.

Rolling his eyes, Arden leaned toward Spooky but the man didn't run. "I would destroy you, kitten."

"I look forward to it." Spooky's tongue darted over his lips and he grinned.

The growl that rumbled in his chest was now for a completely different reason. Spooky was dressed as a maid. The top was laced with a white ribbon, but he was showing off a bit of his smooth chest. And the skirt was short, so short Arden was sure he would see a peek of underwear or skin underneath if Spooky leaned over too far. Something stirred in him and he shoved it right back down where it belonged.

Arden shook his head. "I thought you liked Porter," he said, quickly changing the subject.

"Yes." he sat up quickly. "Of course I do. As a friend. He saved me." Spooky smiled and his bow-shaped pink lips spread. "But I want you to save me in a completely different way."

Arden narrowed his eyes at Spooky. "Don't you have work to do? You can't coast by pretending to be a kitten anymore."

Spooky frowned. "Fine. I'll get back to work. Can I get a drink for my customer? He wanted me to come and get it personally."

He searched Spooky's face, but the man was no longer looking at him. Arden stared. When Spooky finally made eye contact, he huffed.

"Drink?" Spooky asked.

"Lose the attitude," Arden growled as he leaned toward Spooky. "Or I'll make you lose it."

He stared up at Arden and swallowed thickly. "You’re so mean sometimes."

"Yeah? You have no idea." Arden took the drink order and quickly made a Paradise cocktail before he slid it over to Spooky. "And Iwon’tsleep with my workers, so stop flirting."

"Trust me, I'm okay with that," Spooky said as he snatched the drink and stormed off.

Sighing, Arden pushed his fingers through his hair. Since when did all of his hosts lose their minds? Historically his employees had always driven him crazy, but this batch was on a different level. If they weren't sassing off, they were doing something dumb or breaking shit or showing up late. It was like they were trying to push him over the edge.

Arden tapped another bartender on the shoulder. "Can you take over for me?"

"Yes, sir," the girl nodded, her rainbow ponytail bobbing.

"And have someone tell Micha to meet me in my office upstairs."

"Of course, sir."

Arden smiled at her. At least someone wasn't giving him a hard time. He left the bar behind and took the back door up to the third floor. Arden typed in his password and let himself inside.

He opened one of the doors and went to his office. When Micha arrived, he would be able to see him on the camera and let him in. Until then, he settled behind his desk, turned on his computer, and pulled up the security program.

There, on the screen, was Micha. Arden poured himself a glass of Bourbon and pressed play. It was footage from earlier in the day, before their shifts. Micha left looking over his shoulder and when he returned he was jumpy.

"What are you up to?" Arden asked, his eyes tracking Micha's every move.

The angel had missed their meeting earlier and that was unacceptable. Everyone at PGD had to follow the rules and one of the major ones was that everyone had to attend meetings. That was how they all stayed on one page, how issues were brought to light and security concerns were discussed. So, where had Micha been?

Arden stayed tucked behind his desk for the rest of the night until the host bar began to calm down. He watched as Micha trudged up the stairs as if he had cinderblocks on his feet.Is he trying to procrastinate? You have to get up here eventually, little birdie.Micha stood in front of the door, took a deep breath, and pushed the button beside the keypad.

Smiling, Arden pressed the button underneath his desk and the door opened. Micha stepped inside and Arden cut the security camera feed down on his computer so Micha wouldn't know it was there. They didn't need to know that he had eyes everywhere. Some of them were suspicious about it, but no one knew the facts. Arden liked it that way.

"Arden?" Micha called nervously as he stepped around the doorway, but only halfway. "You asked for me."

"Sit." Arden nodded to the chairs in front of his desk.

Micha swallowed audibly and moved into the room. He sat down never taking his eyes off of Arden as he did. Once he was in one spot and no longer fidgeting, Arden laced his fingers together and leaned forward.
