“That isn’t please.” Eldon gazed around and made sure no one else noticed them; the other hosts were still getting their sections ready, and half of them were just now showing up. Security walked around, but no one paid any attention to them.

“You are testing my patience.”

The growl in Arden’s voice made Eldon smile. “If I didn’t, would you really keep me around?”

Arden pinched the bridge of his nose. “Come on.” Arden turned around, headed back behind the bar and opened the door to the cellar. “Please.” It was whispered so quietly that Eldon almost missed it even with his enhanced hearing.

Eldon made his way down the stairs, his eyes adjusting to the dark with ease. Before he could say anything, Arden’s hand wrapped around his throat, and he was pulled taut against the dragon’s impressive chest. Eldon sucked in a breath, and it was a huge mistake as Arden’s smooth electric scent sank into him and made him feel intoxicated. What would the dragon’s blood do to him?

“Try and demand something of me again and see what happens,” Arden said.

Eldon relaxed in Arden’s hold and looked up at the dragon making out every fine detail. His face was serious, but there was a twinkle in his eye. It made Eldon grin as he took in the man he so greatly admired.

“Why are we downstairs?” Eldon asked.

“You need to eat,” he said simply. “You have a full night of clients to attend to and I can’t have you hungry in their presence.”

Eldon gave a slow blink as Arden’s words turned in his head. What was he implying? “Okay.”

Arden let him go, and Eldon instantly missed the heated touch. He was always so cold unless he was touching one of them. He hated that cold. Eldon swallowed down the whimper that crawled up his throat. No time for any of that.He watched as Arden unbuttoned one of his sleeves and rolled it up to the crook of his elbow. He offered his arm, wrist up.

“Eat.”

Eldon looked down at the mouth-watering flesh and then back up to Arden. He couldn’t be serious, right?Dragon’s blood was super rare, and Eldon hadn’t known a single vampire that tried it.

“Arden—”

The dragon grabbed the back of Eldon’s neck and brought him close. “Bite.”

Shit, no resisting now. There was no way in hell Eldon was strong enough. His fangs dropped down, and he grabbed Arden’s arm before the dragon could think better of it and take back his offer. His fangs pierced Arden’s heated flesh, and the first drop of blood lit a spark on Eldon’s tongue. His eyes closed as he drew in more.

He swallowed greedily; it was as if he was a newly risen vampire tasting blood for the very first time. The pure bliss shooting through his veins made him unsteady on his feet. Dragon’s blood was even better than Eldon could have ever imagined. He’d expected fire, heat, something hot on his tongue. But no, Arden tasted like crackling electricity in the air during a thunderstorm. Something ancient and powerful lived in his blood and Eldon’s eyes rolled back as he took it in. If he didn’t know any better, he would say he was drinking from a god. But since they didn’t exist, this had to be the next best thing.

Strong fingers threaded through his hair ever so softly. Eldon’s eyes flashed open, and he glanced up at Arden. The dragon’s eyes were oddly soft in the dark cellar. It was that night they shared all over again. Eldon got a glimpse of the man under the surface. If his heart could beat, it would no doubt be pounding away.

Eldon withdrew his fangs and swiped his tongue against Arden’s wrist, shivering at the remaining shocks that danced along his tongue and throughout his body. He stood up fully, not realizing he’d bent over Arden’s arm like it was a prize steak he’d been afraid another predator would attempt to steal away.

Arden’s fingers untangled from his hair and dropped down to his side, and slowly Eldon let the dragon’s arm go. He stared at Arden, one hunger satiated and another awoken. The air between them felt charged, neither one of them able to move or speak for fear of breaking it.

“Have you had enough?” Arden asked.

Eldon opened his mouth to say yes. “Kiss me.”

Arden went quiet, and Eldon’s brain caught up with what he’d said. Fuck. He took half a step back, Arden’s delicious blood still coating his tongue.Need to leave.

Arden grabbed him and crushed him to his body once more. He was making Eldon’s head a minefield of confusion. What was he supposed to think, feel or do in this situation? He’d had the hots for Arden the moment he’d met the man, and they hadn’t died down at all.

“I thought I told you not to demand anything of me.”

Arden’s lips were so close to Eldon’s that his breath brushed along his mouth, making his toes curl.

“Then do it and don’t make me point out the obvious by asking for it.”

Arden growled before he crashed his mouth against Eldon’s. Sparks lit up instantly, and Eldon caved into the kiss. His mouth opened as hunger for more of the dragon consumed him. Their tongues intertwined in a heated dance that Eldon knew he’d be daydreaming about later. His hands twitched with the need to touch Arden to make sure it was all real.

A muffled moan echoed around them, and Eldon was pretty sure it had come from him. All inhibition went out the window as Arden bit down on his tongue, pulling more pleasure-filled sounds from him.

Eldon reached out and pushed his fingers through Arden’s hair and groaned into the kiss as he tilted his head, giving better access to the dragon’s demanding tongue. His black painted nails scraped against Arden’s scalp earning a groan from the dragon. He did it again, relishing in the desire pouring off of Arden.
