Three dayslater we discover the intergalactic community acted swiftly to punish the Hurlians for their transgressions. Sanctions were placed on Hurlia like never before. The entire four sectors was horrified to see the Hurlians attack a sacred monastery on the pilgrimage route, trying to kill a High Priest and harm his pregnant nun.
But I have one more important action to take before I can move on with our life. I need to also let the universe know of one more special event in our lives. I love my female and I need to let her know how valuable she is to me. I hope she is ready to fully commitment and become my life-long mate.
I tell Cabal and Lorelei of my plans and they agree to take care of Lyla for us for the night and the next morning, allowing me special time with my female.
I take her out onto the battlements with me again.
“Where is everyone?” she questions. “Where is Lyla? Why are we up here?”
“I have a surprise for you.” The suns are setting, and the sky is now streaked with pink and gold and stars are staring to sparkle. “Hold my hand.” I pull her close, wrap my arms around her tight and then I step off the edge and we start to fall together.
A scream falls out of her mouth. But then my wings stretch out and I catch our fall and lift us up into the dark sky. The wind whips past us and she gasps as we shoot through the pink sky. And now she’s laughing and giggling with delight. “I love it. I love it,” she shouts. “Thank you, this is a wonderful surprise.”
A chuckle rumbles in my chest. My female loves to watch me fly so I knew she’d love to experience flight herself.
I fly us up to my favorite look out, that I found during the times I spent observing my brother and his bound, prior to making myself known. “We’re almost there.”
And then I stretch my wings out again and settle us both down onto my perch. From here we can both securely sit, with no one seeing us. But we have the entire valley of cliffs from the pilgrimage route below us. And now the suns are still setting allowing us a few more moments of sunlight so I can say to her what I need, with witnesses. This is the whole point of a Bound Declaration Ceremony, I’ve learned—to publicly declare your commitment to your mate.
I set Evie down beside me on a basalt ledge and I take out my new tablet and turn it to livestream and hold it up and point it at the two of us.
She places a hand against her chest, her eyes sparkling with delight. “What is happening?”
“This is a surprise. It is our Bound Declaration Ceremony. Forgive me, I am new to this, new to living my own life and making my own choices. I’d never held a woman in my arms, or pleasure mated, before I met you. I’d never cared for another adult like I care for you. I’d bonded with some of my creators, thinking they were father or mother figures, or in essence my family, but all of that was a lie. They did not care for me, they only cared what I could do for them. I didn’t know to ask for your hand in this Bound Declaration Ceremony before I gave you my seed, because I’d never seen or heard of this ceremony. I knew my brother, and other Hyrrokin called their mate their “bound” but I didn’t truly know the intricacies of what that entailed, and now I know. So I ask you, Evie Jones, in front of witnesses, will you accompany me to the courthouse and legally become my bound? Will you become Evie Firestone? I cannot believe how lucky I am, to have found you right after I left my old life. You are my future. I love you, female. Will you do me the honor of becoming my bound, Lyla’s mother, and the mother of future Firestones?”
Wetness sparkles in her eyes and Evie smiles into the tablet and then turns her head to me and replies, “Isak, I am so very lucky to have met you. I love you and your daughter, and I would be honored to become her mother too. I want the both of you in my life. I admire your courage, your honor and your strength. I am lucky to have found you too. Will you do me the honor of becoming my husband? And yes, I would very much like to be your bound and the mother of future Firestones.”
And right then the sun fully sets and now the valley is dark below us and the stars are sparkling in the nighttime sky. I turn off the tablet and toss it aside and pull my female into my arms and kiss her deep.
“Oh, Isak.”
And then I pull down my trousers and take out my hard cock. I set her on my lap, with her legs on either side of my hips, and lower her onto my hard shaft. “I love you,” gasp, as I slide up inside of her again and again.
