I called my magik, both Ancient and Earth. Power surged through me and allowed me to slice through the silvery tendrils of her magik that held me still. I burst into action. With a twist of my wrist, I flung her against the wall. Keeping my hand out, I held her pinned there, just as helpless as I had been.

Turning to Storm,myStorm, I brushed the fingers of my free hand through his hair.Mine.I stood on my tip-toes and slammed my lips against his mouth, staking my claim and forcing the idiot female to watch.

I could feel Lily struggling, trying to free herself from my magik. I shoved her back, none too gently. She was a full Ancient, and I was not. There was no way I could hold her for more than a few more seconds, but I wanted her to spend those moments watching what she couldn’t have.

The moment my lips touched his, Storm’s body broke free from her magik as well, and his mouth moved hungrily against mine. His arms wrapped around me, traveling down my back to rest under the curve of my buttocks, hauling me against him.

“Mine,” I murmured, his mouth devouring my favorite word.

“Yours,” he groaned, nipping at my lip.

Knowing that I was barely keeping the siren under control, I reluctantly pulled away from the kiss before I jumped Storm in front of an audience. Facing Lily, I glowered and released my tenuous hold on her, and she crashed to the ground.

Lily rose to her feet with a sexy elegance that rivaled my siren. She gave me an appraising look and then clapped slowly.

“That was unexpected. Maybe you are strong enough to help against the Lure after all. It shouldn’t be possible for a half-breed like you to break free of my hold.”

“Stay away from what is mine, or you will need to fear me more than the Lure.” I snarled.

Lily rolled her eyes. “You don’t scare me. I could kill you before you had the chance to move.”

I was raised to revere the Ancients, to bend to their wishes. If an Ancient wanted something that belonged to an Earth dweller, we would have freely given it.

But I would never give up my mates as long as I drew breath. If they were taken from me, I knew the siren would go on a rampage that would change the face of the earth, and I’d be unable to stop… not that I would want to. I’d already proven that when Richard took my mates and I’d thought Kye was dead.

“Lily!” Lokene snapped. “Stop!”

Lily ignored him and moved toward me, her steps slow and predatory.

My fangs descended, and I tasted venom in my mouth. Her confidence was amusing. She could probably kill me, but what she didn’t realize was how quickly my body was adapting to every change, including the likes of her.

I wasn’t sure if it was the strength of my mates or simply the effect of exercising my abilities so often as of late, but there was a chance my body would evolve fast enough to end her before she killed me. It was a chance the siren was more than willing to take.

“Your presence is required in the Iolatara, the realm of the Ancients,” Lily said, voice commanding.

“I will come when I am prepared,” I replied, the siren’s voice a husky purr.

“Then I will take this man as a sign of your oath to come.” Lily reached out to take Storm’s arm. My eyes shot to her neck, prepared to rip it off her shoulders.

There was a flash, and another visitor materialized in the room. He was tall with brilliant red hair and a wry smile on his lips. His eyes met mine, and a delicious shiver traveled down my spine. He blinked a few times, like something about me had surprised him, before turning his attention away.

“Lily. The Elders wish to have a word.” Blowing a kiss at me, he rested a large fist on her shoulder, and they disappeared.

Lily’s magik hold on the men vanished in the blink of an eye. We all stood there, gawking at the spot where Lily had stood.

“What was that?” Kye yelped.

“Who was that?” Storm asked, hauling my body against his.

“The female was Lily, and the man was Bion. They are both Ancients, and both of them are trouble.” Lokene sagged into the chair nearest him.

Storm’s body trembled against mine.

“Are you okay?” I whispered.

“I will be. Not being able to move or step away from her was an awful feeling. A lack of control is not something I am used to,” he murmured, his lips pressed to my ear so that the others wouldn’t hear.

“Will Lily be back?” Eason asked, his eyes continuously scanning the room as though waiting for her to pop out of hiding.
