“Good, because I’m keeping you.” She gives me a sleepy smile before snuggling into my chest. I tip my head up to the sky, looking at all the twinkling stars above us, wondering if life can get any better than this. She lets her body fall to the side, and I lay her down next to me gently. Then I grab a blanket from beside me and toss it over us.

“Yeah, I’m keeping you, too, Mouse.”
