“I told you I wouldn’t do this in your living room, and I meant it.” He grinned nervously and took a deep breath.

She stared at him with big open eyes.

“Olivia, I cannot sleep another night on the sofa.” Fletcher smirked, as he took her hand.

He was lying. He’d totally sleep on it a million nights if that’s what it took to be with her.

She grinned at his joke, as he’d hoped.

“So I’ve come up with a solution. You have to marry me.”

Tears filled her eyes.

“Oh, and I forgot to mention one other little thing. I fucking love you. Beyond words. I never want to live a day without you or Sammy in my life. You are my everything. My heart, my soul, my love, and hopefully, you’ll be my wife.”

A tear fell down her cheek.

He stood.

“Olivia Miller, will you please marry me?” Fletcher’s heart thudded inside his chest.

“Yes,” she said, wiping away the tear. “Fletch, yes. I would be honored to be your wife.”

Thank God!

He claimed her lips, and she flung her arms around him. Then when they parted, he finally got to slide the oval five-carat pink diamond onto her hand.

“It’s beautiful,” she exclaimed.

“Not nearly as beautiful as you.” He lifted her hand to his lips.

“I love you, Fletcher Dufort.”

“Finally,” he said, grinning.

“You always knew.”

He did.

He knew Olivia loved him by the way she smiled at him from across the room, the way her eyes held his as they made love, the way she now made him lunch when she packed one for Sammy.

“I love you, Mrs. Dufort.” He grinned, picking her up and spinning them around.

“Holy shit.” She laughed and tossed her head back.
