CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
Six weeks later

“QUICKLY DECIDE, SAMMY. The movers can’t stand around all day,” Olivia said.
They could.
He was paying them, and if they needed to stay exactly where they were for the next eight hours while that gorgeous little girl of his decided on her bedroom, he’d fucking make them.
Fletcher would do anything for her.
Sammy had slid inside his heart and, like her mom, he’d decided she was his. Respectfully. He’d obviously need Olivia’s permission, but he wanted to adopt her.
Once he had Liv’s permission, he’d ask Sammy.
It was up to her if she wanted him to be her legal father, and that would take time.
For now, he was happy, knowing both of them were his to protect and love every single day.
“That one,” Sammy said. “Is that okay, Fletch?”
“Whatever one you want, baby girl.” He gave the movers a nod.
“Okay, that one.” She nodded rapidly. “And can it be pink? No, purple. And pink.”
Olivia laughed.
“Sorry about the change in décor,” she said, leaning into him as he put his arm around her. “You might not be winning any more awards now we’re living with you.”
He dropped his lips to hers. “I wonallthe awards the moment you said yes to marrying me.”
Sammy giggled and snuck between them for a cuddle. Fletcher picked her up, and Olivia kissed her on the cheek.
“I’m going to be the flower girl, right?” she asked, and they both nodded.
Again.
It was as if his entire body relaxed the moment their belongings moved into his—their—home. Where they belonged.
Later that night, when Sammy was tucked up in her new bedroom, Fletcher and Olivia curled up on the sofa with some mindless TV show playing in the background.
“Happy?” he asked.
“Yes. You?”
“Very,” he said. “I heard from my contact earlier today. Simon was sentenced to twenty-two years in prison.”
Fletcher had waited until they were alone to tell her. It was an emotional time, waiting to find out what his term would be. They knew he wouldn’t be let free but it had been unclear for how long.
