Love, passion, and commitment.

Something he never thought Daniel even wanted, let alone would end up having.

Still, he was happy for them both. Very.

He just knew it wasn’t for him.

Hunter had shared his sentiment during the engagement party.

“Good for Dan. Standing beside him when they get married is the closest I’ll ever get to being at a wedding party, though,” Hunter had said.

“Same, bro. Same,” Fletcher had responded.

He pulled out his phone and shook his head. “Fine. Come around here.”

Scrolling as Olivia raced around his desk and sat on the edge beside him, he found some images from the engagement party and handed her his phone.

As sheooedandahhed, he breathed in her unique personal scent. It was a mix of jasmine and vanilla with a hint of coffee.

“Oh, her dress is gorgeous.” She sighed, swiping, then froze. “It’s so... oh. You. You look... great.”

Fletcher frowned as she stared at the phone for a long minute, then handed it back to him. It was a photo of him leaning against the window, whiskey in hand, as he laughed along with a group of people.

Hunter had taken it and pinged it to him.

Olivia drew in a breath, and he looked up, both of them suddenly realizing how close they were.

They both stood simultaneously, making the situation worse.

Staring down as Olivia’s lips parted, he ached to pull her against him.

Olivia’s eyes lifted from his broad chest to his eyes.

Fuck.

He wanted to suck on those lips, lift her onto his desk and part her legs. He bet she was wet right now as her body reacted to his.

His fingers moved an inch—

“So,” she said, slipping away and returning to her side of the desk. “Did you have a chance to consider the exclusivity withNew York Daily News?”

Fletcher glanced at the clock just as Scarlet knocked on the door.

“Come in,” he said, and she did, handing Olivia her coffee. God, that was close. So fucking close.

“No, I haven’t,” he said to Olivia, continuing their conversation. “Tell me what you think.”

Olivia sipped her drink, as they got down to business as usual.

As if nothing had almost happened.

“I recommend we don’t,” she said. “No exclusivity. We want mass media coverage on this. It’s a flagship launch, so we want international attention and curiosity about where we’ll be opening next.”

Fletcher nodded.

“We can offer them an exclusive on our next announcement to soften the blow.”

He tipped his head from one side to the other. “Why would we?”
