Fletcher glanced at Katy, who looked overwhelmed. He gave her a little wink, and she relaxed, smiling gratefully back at him. His gaze ventured further, and he spotted Olivia moving in fast.

“Okay, let’s wrap this up,” Olivia said, and the media immediately reacted, following her as she led them away.

Katy joined them and answered follow-up questions as she walked. Fletcher was impressed with how Katy had handled everything and intended to let her know.

Daniel turned to him. “All good?”

“They want photos, so if Harper is happy to be in a few, I recommend go ahead and do them. It will keep them happy and off your back for a little while longer.”

“I’ll speak to her.” Daniel nodded and went to join his fiancée. To his left, Hunter tipped his whiskey to his lips and looked around the room.

“One hour and you can leave,” Fletcher said, answering his brother’s unspoken question.

Hunter was his polar opposite. While he’d happily mingle and network all evening, his younger brother was broody and more of a one-on-one kind of guy.

“Gotcha,” Hunter replied, then asked, “Whiskey?”

“Yes, as long as it’s not from Starbucks.” Fletcher smirked, then his eyes wandered away, looking for a flash of red hair.

“Fletch?” Hunter said, a tone in his voice catching Fletcher’s attention.

“What?”

Hunter looked across the room at Olivia. Fletcher’s stomach tightened.

“You need to be careful, buddy,” his brother said. “You may think you’re being discreet, but you’re not.”

Fuck.

“Nothing’s going on,” he ground out.

“Don’t lie to me.” Hunter’s eyes darted to his. “Even if you haven’t fucked her, you want to and all it would take is someone to watch you both for a few minutes to see that.”

Fletcher let out a long breath and cursed.

“Daniel suspects,” he admitted.

Hunter nodded. “You’ll fuck up her career and your relationship with Dan. You know how he feels about the anti-fraternization policy. Especially after the blackmail attempt. All because of our philandering father and a former employee.”

Fletcher’s face turned dark. “That’s not what this is.”

Hunter’s brows rose. “Are you in love with her?”

What?

No.

Fuck.

He needed to end this conversation.

“Look, I get it. Message received. Now fuck off and get my whiskey.”

Hunter shook his head and placed his empty glass on the table near them. He opened his mouth to say something else, but they were interrupted.

“Hunter Dufort, I’ve been wondering if you would turn up tonight.” A sexy brunette sidled up to them.

Suddenly his brother’s expression changed. His eyes darkened and he gave the woman a seductive grin before leading her over to the bar. Fletcher didn’t bother wondering if she was someone serious. Hunter was secretive and rarely shared anything about his love life, but he knew his brother wasn’t looking for a wife.
