A business, a deal, or a woman.

When Olivia pulled out of his arms, he saw her desire fade and anguish return. And he wondered, for the first time in his life, if he had finally met a woman he could never have.

CHAPTER EIGHT

Olivia’s lips burnedfrom his kiss. In a delicious yet terrifying way.

She wanted to touch her fingers to them and smile, but the moment she returned to the party Simon would see right through her. After all, he had been her husband and knew what desire looked like on her.

Though she had never felt the butterflies and core-clenching need she did with Fletcher.

Ever.

With anyone.

She took one look at Fletcher and saw not just hunger, but a predator ready to pounce.

“You need to tone this down, big guy,” she said, straightening his shirt and jacket.

“My hotness, you mean?” He smirked.

She slapped him playfully on the chest and he caught her hand, pulling her in for a kiss again.

“Stop. I need to gather myself, and we can’t go out there looking like we’ve been making out,” Olivia said. “I mean it. You’ll understand when I explain everything.”

Fletcher drew in a breath, nodded at her, then took over the job of straightening himself. He ran his hand through his hair, and her ovaries did a stupid little dance.

God, she wanted to throw herself at him.

“Stop looking at me like that or Iwillbend you over that table.” He growled.

“Fletcher!” Heat flooded her core.

“Yeah, like that. But much louder.” He winked. “Now, if anyone asks, I’ve been debriefing you. Not that it’s anyone’s fucking business. Youaremy PR manager.”

“Okay.” She nodded.
