Fletcher opened the door and she stepped out, putting on her business face. The two of them walked back into the event space and, as far as she could tell, nobody paid particular attention to them.

As if it was any other day.

Not the day Fletcher Dufort had destroyed her for any other man.

“Grab Thomas and Katy,” he instructed. “See if they want a ride, then meet me back over by my brothers.”

Luckily, the event was already winding up. Five minutes later, she was walking across the floor with Katy, to where Fletcher stood with Dakota, Harper, and his brothers. Harper greeted her with a quick hug.

“I saw your engagement photos. You looked gorgeous,” Olivia gushed.

“Thank you. It’s all so overwhelming,” Harper replied. “I’d love to take you up on the offer of media training, if that’s still available.”

“Absolutely. I’ll give you a call next week to set something up. In the meantime,no comment, along with a pleasant smile, is your first tip.”

Harper grinned.

“Looking forward to it. Maybe we can do lunch too? Oh God, sorry, I sound so desperate for friends.” Harper palmed her forehead.

Olivia let out a small, friendly laugh. “I’d love to. It must be hard moving halfway across the world.”

“So hard. But he’s worth it.” Harper gazed at Daniel with the look of a woman deeply in love.

Olivia felt a pang of envy but was happy for them both.

“Let’s do the two things separately. Restaurants have ears.”

“Is that tip number two?”

“Yes.” Olivia laughed again and felt Fletcher step in beside her.

“Let’s go.” He leaned down to kiss Harper on the cheek. “Spot you later, sunshine.”

Olivia smiled at the warm interaction between him and his future sister-in-law.

“Remember the new rule,” Harper said to him.

“Yeah, yeah, no turning up unannounced anymore, so you can walk around naked and bang on every surface.” He rolled his eyes.

“Dude,” Daniel growled.

Olivia sniggered and glanced at Katy who was wide-eyed at the interaction.

“We’re off. I’m dropping my team home,” Fletcher said, placing his hand in the small of Dakota’s back and walking off with a wave back to Daniel and Harper.

Katy and Olivia followed them. She hated watching the man who had just kissed the life out of her touching another woman so intimately.

She had no right to feel like this, but she did, and it was a worry. Fletcher was not a man she could ever be with, and she needed to get over him and prepare to see many more women on his arm.

They slipped inside the black limousine and, after dropping Katy off, they made their way back uptown toward Dakota’s apartment. When it became obvious they were dropping her off next, the wealthy socialite’s eyes slowly moved over to Olivia and stayed there.

Olivia held the woman’s speculative stare until it was uncomfortable, then she turned to Fletcher.

Just as he started to speak, Dakota interrupted.

“I have an early start in the morning.”

Fletcher nodded, looking relieved. “I understand.”
